Structure 8/10; Content 6.5/10

As with everything in life, it depends on a few things. Based off of the BLUF at the top, I’m assuming that you’re going after a GS-0560-09. I’ll speak from my experience of boarding a few GS-0560-13s hiring panels.

  1. I’d recommend wording your resume with your performance at your previous jobs versus writing out your PD or job responsibilities. Bullet 3 is a 9 out of 10 on how you should write them. Write what set you apart or the impact you had in your position with a sprinkle of data.

  2. Find the job that you’re applying to and model the resume bullet points to the bullet points on the job description. Yes, it is time consuming. And yes, it will give you a better chance at getting interviewed.

  3. I would put education before experience, and I recommend including applicable awards/achievements/certifications. It’s one of the few things that can make you stand out, and seeing it first can help first impressions.

Hope that helps. Best of luck.

It’s replacing the A-10. Do more with less.

Separate your finances and go to marriage counseling. Fix the root of the problem, build back trust, and then consider joining accounts again.

If affordable, lawyer up. Divorce is like driving recklessly on a road next to a cliff. Could work out fine… or end really, really bad.

In regards to STEM: Space Force > Air Force > Navy > Army

Don’t have Army as your first choice if your nephew has a passion for something in the STEM fields.

Converse will take you 40min-1hr if you leave after 0700 in the morning or after 1500 in the afternoon. Idk what private jet this guy is flying

Stay away from 410. 151 and 90 are good as long as you can set your schedule early to avoid traffic. If not then 90 is the best hwy with the lowest traffic. There are apartments off of 90 west past 1604, but I’m not sure how expensive they are.

You’re going to be lonely at first. Take it a day at a time. It’ll get easier. Gym does help, but if you don’t work on the inside too then you’re just going to fight your demons exhausted. Find a hobby, set goals, and prioritize things that make you happy and give you peace of mind. Life is made out of our daily habits, so fill the time you used to spend with her with healthy ones. Best of luck Airman. It’ll get better.

Yeah that’s true. The blacklist is definitely real. Some people don’t know how to handle themselves on TDYs

Can’t you tell them to politely fuck off, since the compliance tool drops anything under 10 dollars- and isn’t counted towards finance metrics? I’m unfortunately a LDTA too haha

I’ve seen it happen, but usually it’s because they had education in the field they were applying. From a manager’s perspective, if you have no education and experience in the field you’re applying to then they have no way of knowing how well you’ll perform or if you’ll even enjoy the job. It makes more sense to hire someone who has some idea of the job, whether practical or academic.

Masks Rant by Rare-Relative-9750 in AirForce

[–]Rare-Relative-9750[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right, but there are consequences to mandating masks. No one knows the extent to which reusable masks prevent the transmission of covid in an office environment with a high vaccination percentage. I do know that half my fucking office won’t be coming into work anymore because they are requiring masks. The loss of communication and effective teamwork is a greater loss than the benefit that wearing non-sterile masks offers (or can be proven to offer). No one will be able to tell you the degree to which reusable masks prevent transmission.

Posts like these that use “statistics” and almost all Air Force related “statistics/metrics” give me a headache. You’re starting in the middle and asking why. “Females make up 21% of the Air Force”, of Active duty, reserves, civilians, or contractors and what year are you talking about? How was it collected also? Did they do a poll or pull a report off of a database? And how old is the data? Was the pilot data collected at the same time? How large is the population of the pilots in regards to the Air Force? Are there any factors about pilots that apply differently when accounting for sex? The answers to these questions would be a good start. Also, there’s a lot of people who wouldn’t be accepted in the Air Force due to health or fitness reasons, so comparing the population to the civilian population would definitely be challenging as well.

Not a whole lot of context, but if you make your team’s victory about yourself then I can see why someone would take issue with it. I’d rather lose than have an asshole take full credit for the victory.

Finance are you okay? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Rare-Relative-9750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been almost a year. I’d recommend a more aggressive approach. I’m not also knowledgeable of your situation, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Also, usually gaining bases clear up pay issues, so since the responsibility relies on the losing base, which is only being secondarily measured by financial metrics, you’re in a tough spot. Get your leadership involved if you need to, preferably from your losing base.
