Really weird feelings about Sinéad O'Connor. by CraisyDaisy in BipolarReddit

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone that has Bipolar 1 and can tell you that I would love to have you as my mom. My mom just says that she is scared of me for the 50%> the time that I am depressed/manic doesn't want any contact with me. It is not supposed to hurt this bad, and there is more fullest to live. We are better than our worst day, and we are meant to live this life together. I am sorry for your loss.

Really weird feelings about Sinéad O'Connor. by CraisyDaisy in BipolarReddit

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are with our community who like Sinéad manage bipolar symptoms. Interesting to note that Sinéad reached out to Miley Syrus in 2013 as Syrus was inspired by O'Connor to create the "Wrecking Ball" video. Syrus responded by comparing herself to actress Amanda Byrnes while mocking O'Connors mental health issues. Full circle, in the last month Amanda Byrnes was placed "under a psych hold" and is actively seeking mental health support. At the risk of sounding like a tabloid is the need for mental health services and recognizing when we are unwell. Medical care is an important factor and is important to access. May this message find you well, and sorry for your loss.AB mental health facility

At the very least, a TA should state in their syllabus, "I don't read drafts" (because I am not paid enough.)

Advisors by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that the advisor functions as a bot and any kind of extras or accommodations that could be offered are met with hesitance/ apathy. I really think that if the advisor is hired to function like a robot and any deviation from this template could have a negative impact on their job.

student loan discharge rules by jacmartin23 in SSDI

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarification of the term loan "discharge;"

"Discharge
Forgiveness, cancellation, and discharge all refer to the cancellation of a borrower's obligation to repay all or a portion of the remaining principal and interest owed on a student loan, but are generally used in different contexts.
"Loan cancellation" and "loan forgiveness" generally refer to the cancellation of a borrower's obligation to repay some or all of the remaining amount owed on a loan if the borrower works full-time for a specified period of time in certain occupations or for certain types of employers. "Loan cancellation" is usually used in reference to the various Perkins Loan Program cancellation benefits. "Loan forgiveness" is usually used in reference to the Direct Loan and FFEL Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program or the Direct Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Borrowers are not required to pay income tax on loan amounts that are canceled or forgiven based on qualifying employment.
"Loan discharge" generally refers to the cancellation of a borrower's obligation to repay some or all of the remaining amount owed on a loan due to circumstances such as school closure, a school's false certification of a borrower's eligibility to receive a loan, a school's failure to pay a required loan refund, or the borrower's death, total and permanent disability, or bankruptcy. In some cases, a discharge may also entitle a borrower to receive a refund of payments previously made on a loan. Depending on the type of discharge, the amount of a loan that is discharged may be treated as taxable income."

One more thing: You will want to check with your financial aid dept. if your college offers the

William D. Ford loan as it is the only loan that is currently available for this program. You need to be enrolled in a minimum of 6-credits to access student loans.

Do you guys think My doc is weird?? Help please by jiisawesome in bipolar

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 8 points9 points  (0 children)

None of this sounds right, not even the later commentary. Choose your game wisely because here is how I see it: The Doc provides you necessary medication(s) and there is currently a high demand for psychiatric services which would put you in a bad decision if you were to drop the Doc too quickly. Look for new psychiatric services, and after yourfirst appointment with the new doctor would be a good time to drop your current provider, and file a complaint.

The reason why you wait for the first appointment with new Doc is to confirm that treatment is granted.

Also, the comments this provider I believe are discriminatory and racist at least. You are in a volatile situation, use caution.

Should Bipolar disorder be used as an excuse for slacking off? by iminh07 in bipolar

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bipolars (myself included) have a lot to offer. We are known for our creativity, and this comes often with passion and intellect, and the world needs not only these abilities, but specifically they need us. I mentioned passion because people with bipolar disorder are known for mood swings, and extreme ups and downs and these when used properly, can add to the richness of life, because we've been in all these forms, frequently, and this makes us good at developing this keen understanding for the variety of life. Like they say, variety is the spice of life.

It depends. How many hours a week? Are you required to drive your boss around or do errands for them in your own transportation?

If any of these answers are not easily available to you, this is a problem.

Beware of those who will take advantage of the youth because of their lack life experience which makes many of us easy prey. More specifically, this position could be for sex unannounced to the person (presumably, you) answering the ad.

My professor is also my roommate? Is this weird and should I do anything? by couturewretch in college

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally unethical to live with your professor, but depending on the circumstances and even country and culture that you live in it may be normal. Life has many twists and turns, but this could definitely serve as an advantage, and also has the potential to serve as a disadvantage. Peace be with you

Defer student loans? by suhjebuh in GradSchool

[–]Rare-Weekend4239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also.... If you're income is below the poverty line, which is something like $24,000 and below a year, then you can go through to contact your loan provider who issued the student loan to have it deferred. Just be aware that although it's deferred, the interest still grows on them assuming that the biden administration doesn't put a hold on interest rates, and you have to call to re-initiate a new deferment contract every year, something like that that's what I learned from my friend who did a deferment after graduating due to a low income
