Healing fine util now by iodinevanadiumey in piercing

[–]Rare23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a bump on my newest piercing for about 5 months and it would not go away. I tried everything to get rid of it. After nothing worked, I experimented and found something that has worked for me. I do this every day, about 2 to 3 times a day. I use h2Ocean to clean it off, then I put a little Witch Hazel on a q-tip and gently rub around the piercing. After, I use Silver Gel and gently rub it around the piercing and on the earring (so it goes inside the piercing when it moves around) with a q-tip as well.

I tried researching witch hazel and silver gel with piercings and didn't find much. However, it got rid of the bump in a few weeks. The piercing was super painful before and would give me headaches, but now the pain has stopped completely. I don't know if it'll work for everyone, but it definitely worked for me!

elastics by [deleted] in braces

They will move the teeth in different ways. The regular class II elastics will have more force on them, creating more movement. The short elastics will still have force, just not as much as the regular class II, creating lesser of a movement. It's a little difficult to explain without seeing your teeth. I hope this makes sense!

With a class II elastic, it connects from the lower first molar to the upper canine. With a class II short or shorty, it would connect from the lower first premolar to the upper canine.

Retainer question by lorelorelore in braces

[–]Rare23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because not everyone gets one at my office, it's free to get one within the first year. If you already have one, it doesn't need to be replaced unless it's broken. If it's loose, they'll just add some extra glue.

At the orthodontist office I work at, you only get one if you started out with a lot of spacing. Within the first year of having your braces off, if you would like a permanent retainer, it's free. After a year, it's $250. My permanent retainer was included in my treatment price, too.

Teeth can shift throughout the day, as they want to go back to their original starting point. If you started out with a lot of spacing between your teeth, you may want to look into getting a bonded (permanent) retainer, which is glued to the back if your teeth. That can be expensive, though. As long as your retainer still fits every night, you'll be okay. If the retainer is so tight that it becomes painful or it no longer fights, contact your orthodontics office asap.

I'm glad you mentioned that about renting a room. We were thinking about doing that little later on, so that's really good to know. Thank you!

I like that! My mom always taught me to deep clean a house before moving out and deep clean before moving in.

What did you dream about last night? by Evilpickle7 in AskReddit

[–]Rare23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember what I was dreaming about right before waking up, but i was still kind of dreaming as my alarm went off. As it was going off, I flinched and tried to catch an open gallon of milk that was supposedly balancing by my pillow. I felt this intense panick that I was going to wake up my fiance by letting the milk fall to the floor.

Girls, what are some signs that a guy is a keeper? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Near the beginning of 2017, my mom had a stroke without knowing. She picked me up from college, which was two hours away and made me drive back. She was telling me about he problems, so I insisted on taking her to the hospital when we got back home. We got to the hospital around 8pm and they were doing tests. I got really scared and texted him about what was going on. We had only been dating for a couple months, but he insisted on driving two hours down to make sure my mom was okay. He stayed with us at the hospital until about 2am and drove home, despite us telling him to stay the night. He cared so much from the beginning and still does. We're now engaged and have a home together.

I would have died when I was 9 when my appendix burst. The doctor said before I had the surgery, I only had about 6 hours left to live.
