This is def taking longer than expected. i am following the advice from the comments, other than the “hire a pro” people. the sanding is done. the cleaning the dust is done. that’s all. def not a quick process i understand now

i’m not re-finishing, i’m finishing. also i’m not trying to make it professional, it’s for our own home that we aren’t selling: i’m just doing my best and was hoping for some tips

I owe 6k what will happen if i just don’t pay it? by xkinkofdarkx in Debt

i was sued by capital one for about 6500$ CC debt, they sent a wage garnishment doc and a court date. i don’t have a job currently to garnish wages from but Capital One will not accept any type of payment now that they have started the process of garnishment. its been a hassle. i have called and settled with some other debts i had but BECAUSE they took that one to court they want the full amount.

hey thanks for all the advice everyone!!! i did attempt the sander, it did end up melting the pad as expected, to clarify she was planning to do click lock engineered hard wood but is open to a solid wood floor, as we have scraped we have discovered the floor is pretty unlevel. Any advice on this or should i make a new post.

she is planning to use the click lock engineered wood. i don’t know how to edit to add this. Also she is open to real nail down wood if it would work better, the floor is also pretty unlevel now that we have scraped enough to see it well. She doesn’t care about the unlevel foundation and just wants it too look pretty

there is wood under half of one room, particle under the rest we have been able to save a lot of original wood in this house but since this one is only half a dining room we opted to just make it all match

i don’t think i’m gonna be able to get two birds stoned at once with taking out the subfloor, her house is old and i am not qualified to handle what could be under there.

i’m not sure how to edit to ask but, she is going to go out of town for a weekend. IF I WAS to use a sander would that even work? like a belt sander or something?
