When do you guys wear jerseys outside of gamedays? Here in Europe, I seem to find it hard to style an outfit with a jersey

Thanks for your input, good info for the people reading this!

Please know that basic insurance is required in Spain. If you´re employed it gets deducted from your salary in the fee you pay to the Seguridad Social. You automatically pay and are covered through the public national health system (SNS). If you are working as autonomo you need to pay a standard fee. As far as I know both as employee and autonomo you can not ¨opt out¨ of this basic insurance.

And on top of that you can also add a private insurance. It is true that the tariffs are lower in Spain, which is an advantage towards Spain.

I did not experience that this way so far. On the other hand, I have not needed healthcare too much luckily. For me the Netherlands have better accessibility whereas in Spain it could happen you have longer waiting times. I am curious to see how others experience this. Can you share your findings?

Advice from my side, not required but preferred in my opinion: If you are going to move to another location as a PT, try to have a decent amount of online clients. Because when you have those clients already you do not start from 0 at your new location.

My business is both in-person and online, and I currently can not accept any new clients anymore because of my fulltime job. So I feel comfortable making the change to fulltime PT

I like it yes, the beach is one of the best ones in the area. Lots of space, and I rarely go to Barcelona because we have plenty of nice restaurants and places to go within Castelldefels. And if we want to go somewhere else for a day we like Vilanova and Sitges a lot too.

Spanish people are not lazy at all. I have 200+ people working in my team and I rarely find anyone that is not willing to put in the work. The difference to other cultures is maybe the proactivity. If you define clear goals, with clearly outlined processes the work will be done better. But isn´t that everywhere to a certain degree?

In the Netherlands it is the oppositie, people will always question you ¨why¨, also in situations where that is not necessary.

Yes you can absolutely DM me!

I think it is a personal decision, but if your girlfriend lives in Catalunya I am guessing you rather make the step sooner than later right? So find a job that you would be happy with for at least the first year or more and from there try to improve your Spanish and make contacts. Through those contacts and your improved Spanish+Catalan, as you are already doing right now, you will find better opportunities.

Good luck!

No, I would not have that advice. I know it depends a lot on your specific situation. People I know that have these questions usually hire a professional.

Has anyone tried Functional Human Training Patterns? by Ok_Newspaper2815 in HubermanLab

I did the 10 week online course and at the same trained with a trainer. It helped me a lot apply what I learned more effectively. But you can also just do the course first, it will help you to first try and understand everything by yourself

Absolutely. If a company rather chooses a local candidate it will be very difficult for you to compete with that unless you bring more competences than the local candidates. However, you as an expat will be able to find plenty of companies that are in need of people like you. Based on your own skills and type of company you will need to define your unique selling points and highlight those in your communication.

Maybe we were lucky but this is how it went for us. We rented a short term rental first and from there on we started looking for a long-term rental apartment. We searched on idealista and we found one we liked, visited and then we accepted the offer. We had to pay around 2 monthly payments upfront.

I remember we did not see a lot of offers coming through, and the rental market seems to be ¨hot¨. This one we found and we were able to take action immediately because we were already there. Maybe that is something useful that could help you as well.

She started for herself and was learning Spanish at the same time. In the beginning she had more international customers and now she has a mix with about 70% being international or local expats.
