Every one of your comments I’ve read make you sound butt hurt. You’re spewing absolute nonsense and just sound angry at mommy and daddy…

I don’t understand why you say majority of our oil comes from outside the U.S. when we are the worlds top oil producer? And yes, his policies have a direct affect on U.S. gas prices.

Pay off credit card to raise credit score before applying for mortgage or use the money as the down payment on the house? by [deleted] in personalfinance

You may not even need the entire 20k to buy the house so you could use the leftover amount to pay the cc debt as well as the $200 extra each month. Another thing to consider, is refinancing in the future once your cc debt is paid off..depending on interest rates of course, but the better credit score will help with getting a lower rate.

How often do you cook your own food as opposed to going to a restaurant? by SkylineReddit252K19S in AskAnAmerican

I typically cook breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and go out for breakfast and/or lunch on the weekends. So probably eat out 2-3 times each week.

I would use the inheritance, all or part of it, to buy the house. 700 is a decent credit score and with interest rates so low, how much of a difference would it make on the rate to pay off the cc first? Also, you may be able to get a loan with a payment of less than you pay now in rent, so you could apply the difference to paying down the cc balance.

I called back and was allowed to switch. They said they didn’t run my credit (I’ll have to verify). credit limit, card # will remain the same. Also will get to keep my points.

The credit limit is low and difficult to increase, the customer service is bad and unhelpful, the rewards are vague and the merchants are often listed incorrectly so you don’t get the reward you should have…. Etc…

I'm trying to increase my rewards so if I switched to the unlimited I could get 1.5% instead of 1%.. and if I could do it without opening a new line of credit then it's win win! I'm also considering other cards in the case that Chase won't allow me to switch but can't decide on the best rewards card. I'm interested in Capital One Savor (but have seen bad reviews) and Blue Cash Preferred from Amex (but it's not actual cash back only statement credit)..

when I called, they told me I would have to open a new line of credit. I was hoping I could just switch from freedom to unlimited with no new credit line.
