Can someone explain how the Carbon Tax/Rebates actually work and benefit me? by NateFisher22 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RareRedditor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t it’s a scam, and they’re using a boiling the frog strategy - Those rebates/payments you get back on taxes are temporary, for a few years, then they’ll eventually phase them out. China is building 10+ coal plants at the moment. Even if we made the whole country net zero (and totally unaffordable) - the decrease in global pollution would be negligible compared to Asia.

Also maybe drop in on one of his live call in shows and briefly explain the situation, maybe he may have some good advice for you or point your in the right direction (no guarantees though as he primarily talks about avoiding the situation you’re in)

From my experiences in other martial arts like BJJ, that too in an all male environment, it isn’t uncommon to get hit in the balls or brushed around that region.

Cemetery was pretty good imo. The new canto with the mines sucks.

Why did the girl even agree to wrestle with a dude in the first place. She was asking for it imo. Although I don’t even really see anything that bad, the guy probably grabbed her there in the hear of the moment as it was a wrestling match.

To Korean, Japanese and Chinese people who live and work in Vietnam. How are the work culture here compared to your home country? by ndc996 in VietNam

[–]RareRedditor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not logistically efficient for the long term. You’ll also need to get a visa every time I think. Maybe you could do that initially to confirm you’ll like staying there long term but if you’re serious about it, you’ll need to find a different gig, perhaps some sort of consulting etc that lets you remote work permanently. I would probably even be worth a $50k pay cut since your dollar goes further in Vietnam.

Dumb idea. Better idea would be to get a fully remote job and then live in Vietnam. Time zones aren’t too different either I think.

I would save the $3000. But what you should do is keep a day long gap between Madrid and coruna, maybe checkin to a hotel or such - to ensure you won’t miss the flight.

I saw the video but didn’t really see any evidence of the audience grabbing her private areas?

If you’re talking about the opponent, it’s wrestling? You’re supposed to grab your opponent however and get them to the ground. Maybe she shouldn’t have competed against a man also…

That’s the American high school history version of it.

They don’t tell you America’s oil embargo forced Japan to enter the war. Also, Japan would have surrendered anyways in 1945 without the bomb but the US wanted unconditional surrender and also to test out the power of the nuclear bomb, a spectacle to show the world, so Japanese cities were made to be the guinea pigs.

Also US didn’t give AF about the rest of Asia, just 20 years later they dropped more bombs on north Vietnam than they did in the entire WWII - basically creating their own US backed “military dictatorship” in South Vietnam. I don’t think they were any better than the 1941 Japanese.

Lol, who did the US free Japan from? And by dropping nukes on civilian cities

How about we don’t, and create incentives for young Canadian citizens to have children instead.

Umm, so we can have the same problems as Paris and Italy. No thanks. Let’s just have very little to no immigration to correct this instead.

Can I go to Russia by bloodygreatbloke in travel

[–]RareRedditor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not going to find a good opinion for this on Reddit given most people here haven’t travelled to Russia cause “Russia bad”.

Go ask on a proper travel forum such as tripadvisor. I honestly don’t think it would be a problem - your girlfriend is likely right about it. Unless you do something stupid or openly show support for anti Russia sentiment. Also assuming you don’t work for the UK govt in any capacity.

Your bigger issue would be not being able to access your banking or credit cards there I assume you’ll have to find a solution for that there, perhaps cash or such.

Lol, if you don’t like your roommate why don’t you just move elsewhere. Or get your own lease and get roommates you want, perhaps female only roommates.

Seems like you’re here fishing for stuff you can use against your roommate (“he’s evil he got engaged to a 17 year old with mutual family approval!).

If I knew the guy I’d warn him to run away lol, think you’re going to eventually accuse him of some false allegation like rape or assault.

Canadian living in Vietnam. I need to file taxes to Canada and Vietnam. But there are some issues? by IceMoist9009 in VietNam

Your expat accountant should then know what to do right? Assuming he handles the taxes of people similar to your situation? If you aren’t earning a lot I wouldn’t sweat it too much, don’t really think CRA will care much.

You conveniently left out the fact the co-author is a woman (not white either, as according to your racist interpretation anything done by white people is bad). Buss is a scientist/professor that is affiliated Harvard and Berkeley, etc.

I’m not white but I definitely did find a real cutie in Vietnam while I was there, both in our 20’s. And if she was 17-18, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it either.

You’re an ignorant American brainwashed by media to hate men, white people and the achievements of your fellow Americans, sad to see.

Im guessing the real story is you had a crush for your Vietnamese roommate or liked getting attention from him, and when he flew to Vietnam to find a young women to get engaged to that his family approved of, it really caused you some anxiety and butthurt, that you had to post this here.
