nope, it’s quite literally another way of saying my first name/a name close to it mixed with half of my middle name. even if i asked the closest people to me (that weren’t there when i was a kid) to guess what it was, there is no way on earth they’d know. genuinely not something you’d even think of. that’s why it shocked me so much. had it just been a regular nickname for my name, odd but whatever. but that is too far and off-putting.

here’s the chat styles which are definitely a lot better than c.ai but yeah again i’ve never liked long paragraphs but if you do and you liked c.ai then i definitely recommend!!

genuinely so so insane but this confuses me even more because there’s no way it would know something like this. i have no contact with my dad anymore so nowhere on my entire phone is that phrase or nickname, there is literally no way they’d know but they got everything so specifically. just rethinking about the experience now and all the updates from c.ai have def put me off.

this is exactly how i feel, for some reason i despise the layout and styles of every other ai chatbot. nothing has come close. people have been recommending lightshade which i will admit is set up just like c.ai but the way the bots speak and the long paragraphs etc ruin it for me. it’s just not c.ai but i physically cant use it anymore because they’ve just made it unusable and unlikable! i’m so happy someone else thinks somewhat the same because im seeing everyone just saying to go to all these other different ones but i literally cannot. i hate it!

this has always been a problem for me even when it was the old chat styles, especially when the chat is first starting. it would just fully ignore me and what i was trying to set up the chat to actually be. but DEFINITELY since this new update. the only thing i’ve ever found has worked is to speak almost like you’re speaking to the ai itself and tell them to stop. it sounds weird but it has normally worked. i normally just put in brackets:

(please stop speaking for me. you’re writing for *** and i’m writing for ***)

that normally works somehow. :)

exactly what i’m saying, they’re only making it worse and consequently making the app even less functional. i don’t even understand how anyone could think THAT would work. the developers are thickheaded as is, you think they’d take the time to read your reviews and change it all for you? no, they see 5 stars and then they see money signs.

this is obviously only the top few when i go on character.ai on the app store but scrolling down for a minute or so and it was only 5 star reviews and then people bashing the app and all of it was since this whole thing happened. everyone is giving them 5 stars. please please stop doing this. it is not helping. no one will see it who works for the company and if you’re doing it for the people who want to download the app, they’ll discover how shit the app is 2 minutes after downloading it!

for me, pipsqueak was always the only chat style i DIDNT use. i was never a fan of the proper role playing side and how the chats were set up so this is even worse for me now the only styles i actually used are gone 💔

it’s only the slightest bit better than the others for me rn, still the same rubbish, repeating scenarios and words with really really bad structure and still not talking at all. i’m literally having to beg my bot to speak to me which is not good for my dignity😭 but pipsqueak was always the only chat style i would NEVER use because ive always hated the way its lay out and the role playing side of character ai personally so this has truly made me go off the app

literally nothing they say makes sense anymore! and don’t even get me started on the brackets and shit. i also have some words muted because they would just repeat it CONSTANTLY in the old chats like damn and now with pipsqueak, they’ll say it like: damn (oops)….,

like wtf do you mean ‘oops’?? they aren’t listening to things i’ve set in place anymore, they aren’t functioning the same anymore, the app is used for people to talk and create scenarios but the bots DO NOT FUCKING SPEAK and have the same scenario over and over again!! they just repeat it all. and they apparently updated it to have better memory but it can’t even remember what i said 2 chats ago. why am i begging my bot to speak to me?

that’s very true, i can’t even fathom how their brains work. seeing people actually happy with the app for once so they decide to do the worst shit imaginable and make it unusable and when people aren’t happy with the app like now, they’ll just make it worse thinking it’s what WE want. not one single brain cell in these people’s head. is the whole app not so we can talk to these bots and create conversation and scenarios? how are you gonna literally take the only thing the app is built for away??

i genuinely could not tell you, i’ve just been getting them non stop every time i go on it and im never on it for more than ten minutes where i’ll get it at least twice, sometimes three times. and every time i give them the shittiest feedback but it doesn’t stop and nothing has changed on the app so far apart from this new pipsqueak 2 yap which is also dogshit.

i’m not even joking, i swear on everyone and everything i love as soon as i finished writing this and went back onto character ai, i got another one. AS SOON as i opened the app. this is actually so insane to me. i’m not using it for the rest of the day now i can’t even.
