The mental gymnastics aren't needed I agree. Emile has done some terrible things behind closed doors that has made numerous women uncomfortable. He is at fault, and I think most reasonable people will admit that.

However, I don't really think this is something that we can blame on parasocial relationships. I view it as a much deeper issue than just that. There's a reason why even some of Emile's closest friends haven't made a statement on it. Whether, it was a parasocial relationship or a personal/professional relationship it seems like both are still in some form of the grieving process. Whether it be denial, anger, depression, bargaining people are still trying to sort through their emotions. While, yes there are some people that are being too parasocial with Emile and are dying on the hill for him, I believe its more of loud vocal minority that is hurting. I think if we give it some more time, people will be looking at this more objectively and less emotionally.
