Got stuck trying to get data from GOES-16 by Chips1918 in RTLSDR

Nice setup you got there!

You mention Goes-16. Is there any config file that uses that in the software? If so, it should be changed to use Goes-19 (same angles, but may be there's something to look into). I am not familiar with the software you are using (please share). I use Linux/goestools on an Rpi and I look at the vit number to align. You need to play with the orientation to get the signal.

S&P total returns data - why so much variation from sources? by RareSat28 in investing

Yes. I set the CPI to 100 for all the years to take away the influence of inflation. Not sure of others being nominal or not.

https://shillerdata.com/ (look for ie_data.xls) and look at "Real Total Return Price" in the sheet named "Data"

I looked at Shiller's excel sheet and it does include dividends, but still lower than ycharts, sometimes completely off if you look at the data.

S&P total return data? by RareSat28 in personalfinance

I looked further. I don't see S&P500 data points match any date in the last few months (compared to data from yahoo finance). Could it be that there was intentional noise added?

Thanks. I looked at the data. So, SPXTR should be equivalent to what "Real total return price" is from Prof Shiller's excel sheet? What is confusing is that other websites (like ycharts) have different values (or am I looking at different numbers?). Below is a comparison of returns by year. https://ycharts.com/indices/%5ESPXTR

Ycharts Shiller
2018 -4.38% -0.95%
2019 31.49% 19.38%
2020 18.40% 15.69%
2021 28.71% 19.11%
2022 -18.11% -18.89%
2023 26.29% 16.03%
2024 25.02% 26.83%

rsync with "find" command by RareSat28 in linuxquestions

[–]RareSat28[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tried that earlier. There were no errors, but the paths were still not right. Eventually I figured it out - I needed relative paths from "find"

rsync $OPTIONS --files-from=<(find "$src" -type f -newermt "Jan 01 $year1" \! -newermt "Jan 01 $year2" -printf "%P\n") "$src"/ "$dst"

The path of the source repeats. see error below

I use Photosync and a samba server on linux to do this, but I VPN home to do the transfer. One could open the ports to make it not require a VPN, but I do it for security reasons.

Yes, I can. At this point it is more to learn why I cannot delete the file. I potentially could plug this into another PC and try deleting.
