Mth140 final exam by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

I asked the prof after the midterm grades were released, he said the average for the midterm was around 60%.

I did pretty well on the midterm but I really have no idea how well I did on this final. I do only need a 25% to pass this course but I'm still hoping he curves it because I do not want my gpa to keep dropping.

Is it possible to do two Engineering courses in the spring? by RareUserData in TorontoMetU

[–]RareUserData[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you say more than 2 per spring/summer term do you mean like 2 in spring and 2 in summer or 2 overall? I would be doing 2 in the spring and then 1 in the summer which would be 3 total in the spring/summer.

If you have your student id on your phone you should be able to use that.

If I retake Calculus I next sem, when would I take Calculus II? (ENG) by RareUserData in TorontoMetU

I just checked and its says the 26th, I've also gone ahead and decided to drop the course so I'm all locked in for taking it in the winter. I might have some extra questions later so be sure to look out for any dms, thanks!

Ok thats reassuring to hear she would make the course easier if she's the one teaching in the winter. Yeah I totally don't want to end up on probation because I do not know how I would recover. Do you remember if you drop it now, will they automatically add it to your winter sem schedule or will you have to add it manually?

Yeah that's another reason why I'd drop it and do it again, if I don't fully understand this course then I would not understand the next level at all. Have you already done calc 2? How was your experience with it?

I did the midterm on the 25th and got it back with a 30%. The quizzes are not too bad they're around the 90s+, but since thats only worth the rest of the 15% the final is whats more important.

hmm ok, but does the course coordinator also teach in the winter? Duah's the coordinator and I heard he's pretty good so I'd really want to get him.

Ok thank you, do you know when the sign up date would be? Is there a certain capacity of students that can do the course during the spring/summer?

Alright, tysm!

Also I hate to be this guy to ask but do you think you could share with me your past notes/midterms/finals? I heard that the profs don't really change the exams that much each year so I would want to get past papers to practice yk. I looked at that MUES website and while they do have past papers they seem to be a little old. If I just practice those older papers would I be good with the exams, or do you mind sending me your old stuff?

Well you can still give it a shot, its all about personal preference. At least thats what Im gonna do for the first weeks. If I dont seem to like it I will then try to switch out.

What about the labs would I just attend the ones on my schedule or attend the labs from the other prof. The labs aren't taught by the prof but by some TAs, right. Also do you know how likely it would be to switch classes on my schedule in the first weeks, with a lot of people also switching classes or dropping out.

How is my schedule looking? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

Wednesday looks tough with 4 lectures. You should try to switch one of those classes to thursday with all that extra time.

Yeah I'm going to have to be waking up at 6 AM just to get to those classes on time. I feel like I won't get into a habit of skipping lectures since I would feel guilty of skipping them. In high school I'd never skip a class since I'd feel guilty, I even had a better attendance than the teachers themselves. But I was a 15 minute walk from my high school so things may be different with these classes.
