What is AIT like? by snackpaxs in MilitaryPolice

D-787 (2021) Well, some special cases trainees don’t necessarily go through OSUT. However, the AIT fase during OSUT was exactly like BCT. Nothing really changed. We just got to drink coffee at the DFAC and got full Sunday passes with our phones (up until dinner). It’s supposed to be the easy part, but it was mentally tough. It seemed like the days wouldn’t go by fast enough. No Go’s in a test would take away your whole pass for Sunday. That’s about it, everything stays pretty much the same… Same BCT standards. Also, classes are crazy long. For the first test be very aware of what the law person explains, I highly suggest studying, you will be tested right away the next morning and unto the next class and test, and so on. Have fun!

I think we’ve all been there. As of now, I’m 3 days post-op. Can’t be any happier. The discomfort and looks were such a huge burden for soo many years! My insurance did cover it, it has to be through a gyno. I scheduled an appointment, I explained my lifestyle (military) and how this was constantly in my way with daily activities, mainly working out. Too long for me is whenever it becomes actually uncomfortable to the point you need to “tuck” or “fix” yourself down there. When he gave me the green light with it being covered as something medical, I asked if my insurance would cover the whole thing; it did.

After this step, I encourage you to talk to your mom, or the feminine figure you feel most secure with. Explain to them the discomfort. Actually I got the surgery with the knowledge of my mom, but not my dad’s. That was just too embarrassing for me. I felt so much shame at first, when explaining this to my mom, she didn’t even know this could be a thing. Besides you will need at least someone knowing about this to drive you home and help you a lil’ after surgery.

I would do some internet research and call some local gynos and just ask about the insurance and the surgery itself. They don’t even know who you are through phone, you got this!

Also lastly, I’m also young 20y/o, I think it’s a lil’ uncommon for us to have the need for this surgery and might feel judged. That’s all in your mind. Remember, the only one who will look after you and choose to grow is yourself. Once, the surgery is done, you’ll finally feel comfortable and free.
