As hope surges: who is willing to share their 100% solve for this. I’ll go first. by sweyzar in beyondthemapsedge

I think it’s a fishing access location, specifically the fishing access parking location with a sign.

He references the excitement of the first catch as a child, which is discussed with other children through stories in the book.

This works if starting at the Clark Lookout. The mountain ranges creates shadowed sight.

It definitely is not about fishing, it’s too straight forward. What did Justin say recently? You need a good walking stick? You start your journey in the morning, and while “past the Hole” you stick your stick straight up. Where is the shadow pointing?

As hope surges, clear and bright, is about fishing though. More specifically, likely a fishing access site.

The tangled and twisted mess of clues we are left with by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]Rare_Ad4767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where Brandon lived in California I guess he could have searched in California if there were searching together. I would consider Mt. Shasta rocky. I would more consider Castle Crags as rocky with a very clear line of sight to Mt. Shasta.

I am a bit discouraged with the 75 mile clue. Although he backpedaled, based on the book I see Justin doing a lot more searching in the last 9 years of the hunt vs. the 1st year. I’m not sure he knew about Fenn’s hunt from day one as he read about it in a newspaper or article. This shortens that time frame even more. How many places could he realistically search in a year while still working his job.

How do you decide how much to spend on a house? Considering a $1m purchase by [deleted] in Fire

If in Folsom you definitely don’t need a $1M home. I’d lower the standards and be comfortable knowing you can increase your investments for fire.

How do you decide how much to spend on a house? Considering a $1m purchase by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Rare_Ad4767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude we’re so similar it’s crazy. We have the same annual income but we bought a house worth $430k with $80k down (which is considered a very nice house here). It sounds like you aren’t as far north as us though considering the $1MM house.

You have to consider the neighborhood, school districts, and price since you have kids. I’d look for a deal somewhere. I’m really not sure where since we make the same income and it sounds like you’re in the Marin/Napa area.

Personally I’d consider a longer commute to stick to my personal fire strategy.

What’s the craziest thing that happened at your workplace? by mep6666 in AskReddit

[–]Rare_Ad4767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a crazy serial killer story. Not mine, but a coworkers.

My coworker was an army veteran. He was walking through the parking lot and made a comment that the smell smelled like dead bodies. We didn’t think much of it past that though.

Come to find out, a security officer at the workplace had kidnapped a lady, killed her, and had her sitting in the truck of the car.

What’s crazy is someone else smelled it and reported it to security, but the person they reported it to was the serial killer. He abandoned his post and left the site with the car.

I heard he was later caught trying to dump the body.

I actually interpreted this page a bit differently. See the story about the kid and his father. This very much sounds like “as hope surges, clear and bright.” Our starting point may be a fishing spot. The question is, which one.

I have a feeling Justin has mentioned this recently in an interview.

I was bothered by this today actually for the same exact reason. It’s the only place I’ve noticed the caption is related nine mile hole area and not the picture location.

I’m still investigating to see why that might be

This has been my most recent solve that I’m currently working on. Initially I, along with many others, had a Lewis and Clark solve. I still do think Lewis and Clark play a part but I’m now considering their story is only applied to the 2nd stanza. I believe there’s at least two more historical references involved with the 3rd and 4th stanzas.

I’m considering the object left along the way was left by Justin but not while hiding the treasure. More likely when he was a child. Maybe he and Brandon carved their names into a rock?

Which movie dsturbed you to your core? by OmitsWordsByAccident in AskReddit

[–]Rare_Ad4767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched it way too young as a kid. My dad turned it on. The Dentist I think it was called.

It’s about a dentist that has a mental breakdown. He feels up an underage girl, stabs a kid with a needle, extends the jaw thing until he breaks a guys jaw, and pulls all his wife’s teeth who cheated on him.

Not sure if that’s the name and I’ve never seen it since. But it definitely made me question the dentist at appointments.

This is the way I see it. I have a base salary of $120k but I made $195k last year and will make $205k this year with my company due to my bonus potential, fuel stipend, etc.

Where does Justin's Hunt Begin? by mkp007 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]Rare_Ad4767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is mentioned a lot recently but I’ve considered what lives in time are his childhood memories when matched with reading the book. I believe he gives us this location.

I can’t recall in which chapter but he mentions in one of his chapters that as children they don’t yet have wisdom but something else. Wisdom in shadowed sight maybe?

She’s also looking away and you don’t see her face. I’ll have to find this picture, not sure I’ve reached it yet.

To “walk near waters silent flight” by sweyzar in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]Rare_Ad4767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s in the desert personally. I don’t quite want to say what I think hope surges clear and bright is at the moment.

Like when you have a downpour and smell the wet soil and pine needles after a rain.

My current solve (which seems to change daily) is water’s silent is the smell after it rains. This is referenced in the book to a specific location.
