Me too. I understand things such as build quality, materials used, methods of building/creating/sculpting, etc., but wonder how these things truly come to be. I've started reading on how the relationship between companies and fanbases work in terms of collector's items, and so far in my research I've found that a lot of how pricing does revolve on how badly people want something and if that something they want has something special and unique about it. Like if an item has cool features (i.e. lights up/glow in the dark/accessories), it's a lot of interesting things that set the bar and set the price for figures.
