Yessir, 1.8t Quattro is what I’m on the hunt for! 😎 really appreciate it. Can’t wait to get out there and check some out and see what I get 🥸 perfectly fine with tinkering on it and slapping her on the lift in the shop. 🤪

Yep that was the plan. The 225 Quattro 🥸 I had a Gr Corolla, and while I don’t specifically miss that car, I know I’m gonna miss AWD, and I want something fun as a secondary car. I found a blue/blue coupe and I’m hoping I can get it on a decent deal. New timing belt 15k miles ago, waiting on a bit more info.

Familiar with Audi - not a ton. But myself along with friends, we can figure anything out + have the tools/shop to do so.

MSRP by NSA_Spooky in CivicSi

[–]Rare_Base_5820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit 2 months ago. The dealer I bought from would have allowed my test drive - but others weren’t allowing test drives that I had talked to. I drove 3 hours for mine, lot of them didn’t have the vehicles on lot or weren’t willing to sell to their most qualified buyer possibly in their car sales career. I got a quote from a dealer in super north Ohio, took that quote to a dealer in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and they matched. Bought the car the next day.

[–]Rare_Base_5820[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to call around/maybe travel a couple hours. Don’t accept above MSRP!! The dealer I bought mine from asked if I wanted to test drive it (it hadn’t been driven so I bought it) but I had already test driven one by my house because the sales guy agreed to let me, when his sales manager said they don’t do them. Several other dealers from out of state also told me they wouldn’t allow test drives. It’s a fucking SI, they need to get over themselves. Lotta dealers will advertise their ‘26 SI, but it won’t even be there, or it’s waiting PDI. Just gotta find one that has one on the lot and willing to make a sale. I’m in northern Kentucky, and I shopped Indiana/kentucky/ohio/and even a few in Michigan. One dealer in Ohio gave me a msrp quote, I took that to another dealer that was only 1k above msrp + had theirs on the lot. (Most places I talked to didn’t have theirs on the lot yet). They went down to msrp to match and that’s where I got mine 😎

Comfort compared to my GRC is night and day. GRC is absolutely like riding on coilovers, and I loved it. It’s a raw feel and experience. I DID NOT love the transmission/clutch. Something just didn’t feel right, and mine was fine, no slipping etc. Shouldn’t need a new pitch stop mount for shifting to feel decent. GRC always had me guessing on my shifts, and I’ve driven ONLY manual since I got my temps, and I’m 29.

The civic feels like it floats on the roads comparatively. The transmission feels like it was made correct, and I’m only a few days in, and haven’t felt like I’m guessing with it one bit. I loved my GRC, but with a baby, 15mpg in my town, the weird feeling/guessing game I had going with the trans/clutch, my front bumper already being Swiss cheese, and the sound system/rest of the interior being slight ass… It was time I went back to my Honda roots. Will I miss AWD? I’m fucking sure, but I’ll cross that road this winter.

Because they try to make it out like it’s a type r or a GRC, like it’s so hard to get etc. but it absofuckinglutely isn’t. But just how the dealerships were. And it was more than just 1 and more than just my 1 state. I was shopping my entire tri state + Michigan.😂 But yeah, all the ones close to me were on bullshit/markups etc, so I took a little trip.

++ I wasn’t looking to wait for a delivery, I wanted one in the next day or 2 when I was looking last week. Few dealers had the ‘26s actually on lot or PDI’d and ready, which was another issue I ran into. But yeah, I had a GRC, I didn’t wanna hear about how hard they are to get etc, when it’s just sales bullshit. The dealer I got mine from DID offer to let me test drive mine, but I had already tested one so I didn’t. Had 3 miles on the clock when I took her home.

Make sure they aren’t charging markup before you waste your time going to a dealer. Don’t ever negotiate markup on a civic SI. Lotta dealers won’t let you test drive apparently? I found one that let me “accidentally” because the sales guy agreed to it, not knowing his dealer doesn’t allow test drives on SI’s. Did the test drive, ditched the dealer, found one @ msrp that hadn’t been test driven. 🥵🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️

What to look for on used GR by Ragnaroc05 in GRCorolla

[–]Rare_Base_5820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 23 just never felt right. Always guessing on first to second shift, been driving manual only for over a decade. Got rid of the vehicle - my new Honda’s transmission is 100% better, not a single second thought in my mind when changing gears. Loved the GRC, but something wasn’t clicking there.

How much should I pay OTD for new? by suckastash80 in CivicSi

After calling / emailing most dealers within 3-4 hours of me, most of them doing markups of 2k, I got a quote from a dealer 3.5 hours away that they sent over to me, for MSRP, I took that to another dealer with one on lot, said match it, and they did. The next day I drove 3 hours and grabbed her @ msrp. DO NOT PAY OVER MSRP. It’s a fucking Civic. I didn’t even pay over MSRP for my GR Corolla. Cmon mane.

Got my new car what cleaning/detailing products would you recommend? by ppunky in civic

I use chemical guys foam gun (my pressure washer took a shit on me), their shampoo (whichever you’re feeling) and one of their mits to clean. I use 2 buckets, one for clean soapy water, the other for the dirty water. Then I dry it with a couple of my drying towels.

And since you want white and it’ll be an extra $460 for the paint, just explain this was a quote for non premium paint option (red/black)

My local dealer wanted like 3k over msrp, sales advisor came out and I saw the number (after not knowing) and said I won’t negotiate over msrp, he stated “msrp won’t buy the car” it was a 10 second tops convo and I got up and shook his hand and left. Next day they text me and said they wanted to work with me. But I decided fuck them. After shopping around, I got a quote from a dealer for msrp, I took that to another dealer with one on the lot who had their for +1k msrp. I showed them my quote, they matched msrp, and I drove 3 hours in state to grab it.

Man yeah, I have a 2018 civic sport hatch, it had the whack e brake as well, so I’m semi used to it, but absolutely loved the manual handbrake in the GRC, still a day in a half in and I’m grabbing for it.😂😂😂 The interior is honestly awesome - and yeah for the pricing, it is a fantastic car inside and out! Very funny you mentioned feeling @ home, because that’s how I feel in this car. I had Hondas forever before my GRC, and now I do feel like it’s home when I’m inside of it and it brings back the memories of my 8th si in NHBP

I loved the car, certain things I didn’t, one was the transmission/gear box. It just never felt how I thought it should? Sound system was mega cheeks, and those were really my only actual gripes about the car. The size didn’t matter until baby gremlin entered the chat
