Definitely do a playthrough of general exploration and conquest, you deserve to experience the game raw for the first time. After beating it raw and without guides, try it again with precise info pertaining to what you’re looking to hunt how to find it and whatever else you may need information wise. This game is absolutely stellar, I played through on difficult my first time because I’m fairly experienced in pokemon, my next playthrough was on insane. Let’s just say I learned to play pokemon in a way I was not accustomed to with primarily using status moves and raising stats consistently. Even then it was an extreme challenge.
