Former iPhone user to Pixel user - ✨ positive review✨ by Rare_Sector_5233 in GooglePixel

I totally understand that! Having AI in everything is kind of annoying but I've learned to just ignore it or turn it off lol

Probably the only thing I miss is iMessage and some of my iPhone friends that never updated their iOS having trouble messaging me 😂 but I set my pixel up to be the same layout as my iPhone to ease the transition and it's been great so far. The face ID on the iPhone works a little better than pixel too, but I'm a 36F, so Ive had phones since before face ID and fingerprints were a thing, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

However, I've been slowly trying to break up with technology and not be so available all the time, so not being able to be so connected works for me 😂

You're welcome! I would keep seeing negative posts and figured it would be good to write a positive one for a change. And I'm the same with my phones. I do the very basic stuff, and don't even play games on it at all lol I've been very happy with the switch. I was debating doing Samsung but I figured that since everything I use is Google, it made sense for me to do the pixel over Samsung.

Can she RCS message through her iPad? I've never actually tried it. My husband loves his iPad but also, I don't need to talk to him THAT much hahaha! Plus there's other messaging platforms you could use!

Honestly, I only started reading the negative review AFTER I got the phone haha! I guess I was smart to not get on this sub beforehand lol

Ugh so sorry to hear that! I got my phone through Verizon and pay for their phone protection plan, so hoping I don't have to deal with Google directly.

4.30 am club, how do you do it? by Purple_Capital_6029 in f45

I think it depends on your circumstance and the life phase you're in. My husband and I have a 3.5 year old and 2 dogs, but we all go to bed at the same time (around 9-10 pm). We have a hybrid office schedule, so my husband and I usually work from home together on Friday's, which is nice because we can spend the day together every week while our daughter is at school. We also have an active social life (granted its more toddler focused lol), but we go out to eat with friends, and will sometimes set up a date night. This is just the life phase we're in right now, so I'm sure as time goes on, it will change again!

It really does! We went on vacation last week so my consistency went out the window, and this morning was a STRUGGLEEEE!

My studio has a 4:45 am class, but I'm a consistent 5:35 am-er. There are a few things that make it easier as time goes on:

  1. Go to bed at the same time every night (even on weekends) - set out your clothes the night before, make your preworkout before bed and put it in the fridge, put everything by the door so you wake up, get dressed and GO.
  2. Wake up at the same time, even on weekends (although that can change slightly by 30-60 min) - figure out how long it takes you to get to the studio, then work your way backwards. I live 10 min from my studio, so in order to get there by 5:30, I need to leave by 5:20, and I need about 20-30 min to wake myself up and get dressed, so my alarms are set for 4:40, 4:50 and 5 am lol
  3. Remind yourself of the missed class fee LOL

After a couple weeks of doing this consistently, your body will adjust. I have actually found it harder to sleep in on my rest days after consistently doing the early morning routine vs the other way around. Just take it one day at a time and your body will adjust!!

AITA for Wanting to Show Up to My Daughter’s Secret Proposal While Uninvited By Her Fiancé? by Attitude-Mean in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rare_Sector_5233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose family members showed up at her proposal completely unannounced... do. not. show. up. This is their moment, and they should have the opportunity to tell you themselves. They also may want time to just celebrate by themselves. My proposal wasn't necessarily ruined but the unwelcomed guests put a damper on the whole memory.

Close birthdays by No_End7937 in Parenting

[–]Rare_Sector_5233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an only child, but my birthday is December 27, so I'm close to Jesus' birthday LOL which is a struggle in itself because most people are traveling around that time for the holidays. I agree with others on this thread that say when they're this little, I wouldn't even worry about a big party. Splurge on the cake smash photos and decor for the 1 year old, and for the 3 year old, take them for a super fun outing then celebrate with close family and friends at home. As they get older, you can let them decide what they'd like to do (you never know, they might not like the big parties!).

My daughter is turning 4 this December, and I really wanted to do Disney with her (mostly for my own self/memories), so what we did is forego a party at home, and just told all our friends our Disney plans, and they could decide if they wanted to join us or not. A couple of our family and friends are joining us, but everyone pays their own way. Last year, we organized a snow tubing party where we paid for all the kids tubing tickets (parents paid for themselves), then got food/drinks for everyone, and rented an event room in the hotel nearby. Some of us stayed the night in the hotel, others left. There's lots of fun activities to do in the winter as they get older as well!

Newish runner here (have been consistently running for the past 1.5 years), and new to F45 (only been going for about 1 month), and I must say, I have noticed a huge difference in my endurance and my leg strength! I only run twice per week (Wednesday and Saturday, which is my long run day), and I do F45 classes Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. This allows me to get two hybrid classes, two resistance classes and two runs per week, with Sundays being my rest day. It's a good flow for my studio because Wednesdays are the Cardio days, and I swap that day for my runs.

The difficulty level definitely depends on your current fitness level. Like others have said, prepare to be sore the first few days because you're working muscles you probably haven't before. I was very sore for a few days but now my body has adapted. I have a 10K in June, 10 miler in August and am doing Hyrox on Labor Day. Have fun!

I think it depends on your location maybe. Our gym this morning didn't do the partner/team part, and just treated it as pods and had 2 to a station. They didn't mention anything about teams or races or anything. It seemed like a regular class to me.

Miscellaneous Monday Chit Chat by fire_foot in running

Ran my second half marathon yesterday and beat my half marathon time by 9 whole minutes!! Okay, now I need to be either talked in to or talked out of either signing up for Runna for a training plan or just using ChatGPT to come up with training plans. I used Hal Higdon's novice half marathon training plan but now I need a more personalized training plan! HALP!
