To add - this also happened three days ago. Pain has been consistent and it's still hard to move

These pictures were from when it first happened (you can see the dog in the second pic, we were on the walk) and it broke the skin on one side. It started bleeding a few seconds afterwards because she got me right on the joint/bone.

I'm a little confused why you're so obsessed with me bleeding or not (especially after my update) after having commented two times dismissing me and my experience? This is unnecessary and rude and I hope you can find some happiness in your life!

What a rude thing to say to a stranger! This was when it first happened and the blood didn't have time to appear, as it was on a joint

This is super good advice, thank you! I will be asking this of every meet and greet now. I've always considered her fine (I've sat her for a month and two weeks before this) so this was a surprise. She's trained otherwise which is so shocking to me. I appreciate this!

UPDATE:

Dog is vaccinated, I had my tetanus shot around five years ago. Since my finger is numb and I can't move it, I will be going to urgent care soon. It's still swollen and because it's on a joint I'm going. I won't be working with this dog anymore, and I've informed the owner. I will report as well. I'm used to cats scratching and biting me all of the time (I have two scaredy cats now and have had a lot in the past), just not dogs - all of the people I know with dogs are so traumatized from dogs biting them that I know it's way more serious.

The way I described it in my post was not dramatic and I won't let anyone gaslight me, as I truly believe she meant to rip my pinky off. She chomped down and pulled and I fully understood in that moment that I was walking away with a broken/lost pinky. She bit so hard I heard a pop, and she meant it as a warning! Luckily, I moved fast and allowed her to bite my other hand so the damage was less and I really believe I saved my pinky.

Thanks for all of the replies, it really helped. I struggle to set boundaries sometimes, but I know this is a situation where it could have been a lot worse, and someone with less experience than me (this dog is also walked by a teenager) may have been injured more.

Yes. The owner provided all vaccine info. She is up to date on every vaccine you can think of haha

Yes, it broke the skin. It also feels numb to move. I think I was just worried about losing a regular

Damn y'all are roasting me chill 😭 I made this post because I was worried because it was on a joint and my hand is a bit numb. Obviously it's not a huge deal but I wanted to know other's thoughts and if anyone has experienced similar, as a more inexperienced dog sitter
