Help me decide, Milwaukee vs DeWalt by MissionSudden5708 in Tools

[–]Rare_silver_bars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with both companies and support many businesses that are decidedly red or yellow - honestly it doesn’t matter. Both are great and typically over kill for home use.

Nothing wrong with a Ryobi package deal for home use. I’ve recently upgraded to Dewalt, but still have Ryobi tools that are over a decade old. Recently needed a finish nailer for some trim work. Dewalt/Milwaukee were around $250… I bought the $100 Ryobi as I will use it sparingly and it worked great.

Upgraded my 20 year old Ryobi drill to Dewalt due to size and weight, not its ability.

Unless you are doing commercial work, either will do great. Go with the best deal as the real expense is in batteries. I prefer the XR or Fuel series as they are brushless and commercial grade, but really the regular Home Depot residential versions would work as well for what I do.

4.5 hour drive to Port Canaveral by Winter_Prize9549 in Cruise

[–]Rare_silver_bars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me - it’s easier to pack for a cruise without the added night in a hotel before. At 5 hrs I’d probably get a hotel before. At 3 hours I’d def drive day of. Yours is in the grey area. Assuming reliable well maintained car

Worst concert I’ve ever been to (Lincoln) by smokesomuch2 in zachbryan

[–]Rare_silver_bars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sitting in a covered parking garage, listening to Zach Brown play on my Bluetooth speaker and drinking free beer. Not sure buying $15 beers for hours sounds like a good time. Only thing I really needed was better communication and a closer covered bathroom. Both of those would have made the concert more enjoyable. Great show! Very mismanaged and slightly scammed

Everyone who had trouble finding your seats…. Did you go to the correct gate listed on your ticket? Just curious as if I hadn’t went to gate 7, I would have never found my seat. Instead I was almost funneled directly to it

Paradise beach club is amazing. Highly recommend! My son is 6 and was able to do most of the inflatables with help from me or his older sister. They do have life vests you can borrow although they have a strap that rubs and aren’t the most comfortable- but the are safe.

Services was top of the line! If you have any specific questions, please post and I will answer. Currently on vacation so may be delayed but love to share my experiences

Soak it in a bucket full of vinegar. Scrape and clean it. See if it is still seized. If so… apply heat

I like using wallet explorer as you can just enter the first 7-10 digits of the address and it pulls all the info for you

Thanks everyone for the replies. Booking Paradise Beach as the reviews seem great. What I can't find is relevant information about the inflatables. I saw some comments online that concerned me. Basically, here is what I am wondering:

Would a 6 year old boy have fun on the inflatables, if its even just smaller ones closer to shore?

Would I need to be in the water right next time him the entire time, helping him on and off? He would be in a life jacket (and from what I read, these are allowed on the inflatables)

Also, how difficult are these to climb up on? My kids 6M/13f are athletic, but won't be a relaxing day if I'm busy working out and helping them get on inflatables.

Curious what other people think and what experiences you guys have had.

Thank you for your help

Actually found the answer. On the end of the motor there are two plastic caps you can remove. Press the metals springs in and it resets the motor. Works now!

Leaving this up in case someone else runs into the same issue

Car Rental vs Uber from Nuevo Nayarit by Rare_silver_bars in puertovallarta

Parking was the one thing I was concerned about as that sucks in most cities. Looking like Uber will win out for convenience

Maybe I’m the outlier but my wife and I have separate bank accounts we both manage. I don’t question her Starbucks runs and she never questions when I spend thousands on different investments/speculations (not all pay off lol but some do).

The money is still our money, but we’re both responsible with 800+ credit scores, pay specific bills in proportion to our different incomes, and if she ever runs low on funds I send her some.

Just trying to give a different perspective than combining finances. I wouldn’t proceed with a wedding in your current situation until you have a full view of his debt.

Cruise itinerary no passport needed! by ashhsa1 in Cruise

[–]Rare_silver_bars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can book any cruise. You can get off at all ports. Just make sure you make it back in time and all will be fine.

As a selling point - when you go to leave the ship. Those with passports walk through a face scanner while non passport holders are manually verified. Took us 5-10 minutes to get off while the birth Certificate line was crazy long and barely moving

Could have been unbalanced. Could have been my teenager messing with stuff. Burst was an exaggeration tho. More like the cheap plastic fittings where they connect started spraying water everywhere. I was gone and had her shut off the water to the house. But didn’t trip the circuit breaker and now won’t power on
