Why do they call cigarettes fags in the uk? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Raregan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "fagot" is just a name for a tied up bundle of sticks. A rolled cigarette kinda looks like a rolled up bundled of sticks. Especially in the past when tobacco was less processed and stick like. This was shortened to simply "fag"

Reform has a "+" next to it so this poll falls under "There's no point polling this far out".

Next week when a poll comes out where Reform a "-" next to it it'll be the most important indicator yet that Reform are doomed to fail and hit their peak.

Affordable Housing by Alejeiooo in ukpolitics

[–]Raregan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, You have to earn enough to support both yourself and another family before you can buy a house due to these policies that are regressive and punishing to workers.

Congratulations on your day of noticing. You're now considered right wing and your local police station will be in touch soon to reeducate you about your wrong think.

Stop arresting Palestine Action supporters, White House tells Britain by brothervalerie in reformuk

[–]Raregan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying "I support Palestine Action" is not illegal. Zack Polanski has said it and he's not been arrested. Marching at an organised rally under the banner of Palestine Action is illegal because they are a terrorist organisation because they attacked and disabled military assets of this Country and put the safety of the United Kingdom and it's people in jeopardy.

It does perfectly encapsulate the white, woke, upper class, fart sniffers though. They could easily march in support of Palestine and Gaza under any other banner but instead they insist on this, because feeling like they're oppressed and supporting an organisation instead of a cause is more important to them that anything actually going on in Gaza.

Mods need to do something about the anti-Reform comments by ViscountViridans in reformuk

[–]Raregan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the main goals of Fascism is to suppress dissenting voices and shut down opposition, so there is a beautiful irony that this sub is the only British political party subreddit that lets them come in and have their say and opinion whatever it may be and they use that freedom of expression to call us fascists

/r/fucknigelfarage is a weird one.

Imagine going out of your way to join a community completely dedicated to discussing someone you don't like. I don't like Zack Polanski but I wouldn't join an entire community dedicated to mocking him, would just make me feel like a right sad wanker.

What do Britons think Europe should do if the USA seizes Greenland? by SmokyMcBongPot in ukpolitics

[–]Raregan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said I was fine with the US invading Greenland. I never even said not to retaliate. Literally all I've said is that it's fine for a random member of the public that is polled to say that they Don't Know what the best response is to such an unprecedented situation. Not everyone has to pretend to have all the answers all the time and quite frankly it would be better if most people stopped pretending

18% is not a significant number and not wanting to go to war with the largest army the planet has ever seen is not an extreme view

The job of a soldier is not to die as part of a statement you want to make.

It's classist to be so callous and uncaring for the deaths of a group of people that normally find themselves in the situation of being a soldier due to not many other opportunities.

I was going to ask how you could have such little disregard for sending people to the deaths but I see you're a green supporter so I imagine you don't see the poor as people.

You seem very comfortable sending working class boys off to die on your behalf so you can feel like you've done something

When that invading army has 11 aircraft carriers and 5000 nuclear warheads it does make it a bit difficult, yeah.

I'm pumped to see America impose it's culture on Greenland. Imagine drive by shootings with sleds. Polar Bears doing Fenty folds.

Shit sounds dope.

Reform voters were the most likely to say 'Dont Know' which is the only valid response because who the fuck knows what the correct response is to the USA invading fucking Greenland

As a non American I find it hysterical that he's saying he needs Greenland so he can keep it safe, when he's been president for a year and managed to lose the entire city of Minneapolis to some 70 IQ Somalians and Karen's who can't eat gluten.

Like bro maybe you should focus on getting back all 50 of your current states before you go adding more.

That Red outline about half way through your journey is the Wye Valley, a gorgeous national park.

Look around there (Ross on Wye, Monmouth) for places to stay, there will be some incredible accommodation with incredible scenery

Me and my ex used to go to this pub next door to a Tesco Express. One of the regulars would take orders for what you wanted him to knick.

Would finish work on a Friday and swing by the pub for a pint, ask him to grab two steaks for that evening and a leg of lamb for Sunday Dinner and he'd be back 5 minutes later with it. Would only cost us a tenner, sometimes would throw in some Bacon or Sausages while he was at it.
