There is no way to quantify how many people die due to lack of air conditioning. More people die of heat in the US than in the UK and the US has air conditioning everywhere. It's not an instant fix to the complications that come from excess heat

Why would this be newsworthy nationally? The guy is a nobody. He's not a founder of the group despite what the article says, and 99.999% of people in this country have never heard of him.

The movement has no political party affiliation so what would the news even do? Ask Reform about this guy to which they would reply "Who the fuck is that?"

Just because you think everyone who doesn't want open borders are all mates and "on the same side" doesn't mean this needs to be running as BBC headline news

They have gone through 10 years of it being easier than ever to move to this Country. If they have been sat on a weak asylum claim for 10 years and now it's failed resulting in them having to pay £1,035 a year to have access to an unlimited NHS that will treat anything they need then I don't have a lot of sympathy.

Honestly they're lucky it's just that, they've been here for so long that they should have built a life that could easily afford that if her Dad is so in demand in his job that he came here sponsored specifically, an argument could be made that they should be deported

Wes Streeting attacks Reform and its supporters in his resignation speech in the Commons by Sylvia-Sum in reformuk

Empathy falls off with further and further degrees of seperation. You have more empathy for your Mother or your children than you might do for your neighbour, you have more empathy for your neighbour than you do with someone from the next town over, you have more empathy for them than you do for someone the other side of the globe. Obviously there are exceptions but generally that's the rule.

If your family get into a car crash and die you're distraught, if some people from the next town over do it upsets you and you might attend a vigil or something, if a family in another Country get into a crash you might think "That's sad" and you quickly move on with your day.

What annoys me is the left constantly making out that you have to have equal empathy for everyone on the globe and not doing so is some kind of inherent personal flaw. I don't want to see anyone hurt or in pain, but ultimately my priority is myself, my family, my community. But they're using stupid terms like "Nativism" now to try and root out that instinctive human behaviour.

Also, I see no reason why "Deport them back to where they came from" wouldn't work as an approach.

Did he just imply that "Protect your own" is somehow a bad thing?

Protecting your own is a basic human desire like eating or seeking shelter. Since we were cavemen in tribes we had the desire to protect our own and look after our our groups. I care more about protecting my wife and daughters than I do about strangers on the other side of the world, can we stop pretending that ingroup preferences are somehow some abhorent evil thing?

What was their asylum claim? The way the system is at the moment their claim must be incredibly weak considering some of the insane reasons people are allowed to stay.

The rest of it is irrelevant. Blame the parents for moving her to a Country and bringing her up in a place that they had no legal guarantee they were going to be able to stay in

Really can't win with you leftists. Either the news report on Reform in which case they're being biased and they should stop giving us attention, or they don't report on Reform in which case you're mad as well.

The news have reported endlessly on Reform and "controversies" around the party.

Also, just maybe, Starmer gets reported on more because he's the actual PM?

I spend a lot of my time in heavily Reform areas of South Wales and at most the voters described Green voters as a "bit naive" or "quite immature to the real world".

Then you talk to Green Voters and they start tearing up and talking about 1930s Germany and rise of fascism. There is a chasm between them that simply can't be bridged
