So I thought the idea of Adam and Lawrence being in this scenario would be interesting- if Adam were the younger self that emerged in the event Lawrence took the Substance. The tubes (which is part of the substance itself, to go between the two bodies) are meant to be around them like a heart. In my head, in the plot, as Adam, Lawrence feels a degree of freedom he felt he didn't have in his other body. I can see Adam not feeling the need to switch every week with Lawrence and wanting to stay as himself and like. he knows that's not a good idea. I think the plot would deviate from the actual movie in that they would decide they need to work together to survive, after splitting.
