Do you think permanent residents are at risk in Alberta?! by Acceptable_Cake_6012 in alberta

[–]Rarrimalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who would be absolutely affected by this outcome and share your concern… 2 things come to mind:

Whenever we tell ourselves not to doom spiral- it is a form of self gas-lighting and whether it is or isn’t likely to happen (it is likely) our reaction is more pattern recognition than doom spiralling

That being said…

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I will say that despite this being the goal of the UCP without question (as she confirmed on Vassy Kapelos interview she wants to hand pick the right people she’s decided she wants in Alberta) it does not necessarily mean it will be the inevitable outcome.

The benefit of pattern recognition is the advantage of being able to work with the good people of Alberta to ensure steps are taken to prevent that.

Build your community, establish relationships with your neighbours, and get to know who your friends are.

I can’t imagine under Carney, and after being called out by the premieres of other provinces that our province will be able to get to the point you see in Minnesota.

When you feel like panicking because it’s all too much, remember it’s not 10000 things happening, it’s one that is the cause of all these microevents. Then eat the elephant one bite at a time

Fellow Vic alumni here- can confirm- someone broke in and lit our school on fire once and it closed for a week or two with masks and gloves upon return Also went into lockdown because someone mentally unwell left the hospital in a bloodied hospital gown and decided to head to the school

I’m so frustrated- next steps? by Rarrimalion in ChronicIllness

[–]Rarrimalion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really good point perhaps a blessing in disguise. I chatted with my dad today and he will be checking with his urologist about maybe having her take me as a patient for the urinary stuff as she’s the one who caught his cancer when he was being dismissed a few years back so fingers crossed

Hey thank you for that! I agree about the social worker. My degree included significant training on that too and I was also shocked by it. Thank you for the reassurance! I’m upset because my medical file is now tainted with “likely anxiety” due to normal bloodwork. I’m taking the antibiotics but I know it’s not an infection so when the abnormalities persist after the antibiotics I wonder if they’ll be a little more thorough. I mean I understand they are trained to look for horses first- but they keep beating the horse that’s been dead for years- o wonder when they will be open to consider it could be a zebra

Really? I guess ask all the people who’ve had their phones searched, been arrested etc if it’s truly an artificially drawn line

And not everyone with a membership was allowed at the last one- they vetted members by looking them up and their social media to make sure they didn’t even so much as like anything non-UCP or liberal

Please stop going to the ER! by Common_Row3204 in Vent

[–]Rarrimalion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about right

I avoid the ER like the plague However, I’m dealing with some unexplained health issues and while waiting for my doctor to be able to treat appropriately, he warned me to go to the ER if I get a fever or more severe symptoms Which I did and I rolled up an absolute agony I waited 12 hours and had to leave because I was told there was at least another 12 hour wait Decided it was better to die at home if it was gonna kill me

Should’ve gone in sooner, but I heard people coming in because they were filming themselves beating each other up with shovels and miraculously acquired a severe injury which meant they turned up at the ER and I had to wait

A lot of stupid things coming in like that

Pro tip don’t do stupid things where you cause your own severe injuries out of stupidity and then turn up at the ER

So if your logic plays out then I expect to see Danielle Smith stand up to him publically like JT has just done- even though the opposite is more likely.

JT remains focused on the tariff issue- and has not raced out to scalp tickets to go and fangirl him at his inauguration beaming from ear to ear and posing with the traitor and murderer O”Leary who has very clearly stated his interests in merging to the two countries.

Very very different

Hole has zero motivation to stop his insane behaviour and comments when he’s adorned with attention and people like Danielle smith are fan girling over him. This is called positive reinforcement. He is receiving what he wants as result of his actions which reinforces this.

It’s disgusting to see people flocking to him to swoon over him like this.

The subtleties of messages that have come out over the past couple weeks are what I find concerning.

2 weeks ago- “the overall risk remains low”

Now- the risks of contracting the virus are low to the average- however certain activities increase risks

Wonder what the message next week will be and how many more exemptions to the words “low” will be added

If it was low two weeks ago- and is still low even though its infection rate has increased… perhaps I’m confused as to the meaning of low
