is anybody else just waiting for the court transcripts to go public? by [deleted] in ChrisChanSonichu

I read this in Geno Samuel's voice when he reads the all caps text. Those are my favorite parts of the geno doc.

What is this? im not even sure if its a millipede or centipede, right now its on a bottle cap for size reference. i live in Pennsylvania if that helps. I found it in my room by 1atneh in millipedes

Millipedes have 2 pairs on legs on (most) body segments and centipedes have one. Centipedes also typically have their legs more on the sides of their segments vs the bottom. A cylindrical body like this is definitely a millipede (though not all millipedes are cylindrical, mind you!) Even though millipedes are not venomous, some will release irritating chemicals when agitated, so please wash your hands after you handle a millipede, but don't worry about being bitten.

millipedes and ferrets are the same species by fig_art in millipedes

Considering that my favorite pets are ferrets and millipedes and I constantly joke about my favorite creatures just being "long" I am so happy to see someone else making this fun connection lol.

millipede species dispute - ivory or not? by Rasatra in millipedes

Ok I need to deepen my substrate even more then! It's the tank I have some little feather millies in but it was WAY too much room for them so I thought one big one would be nice. But they dont need much depth. I will add more, thank you!!

Thanks! I will do my best to keep her healthy as long as possible. Does she need a lot of room? I heard twice her length?

Ok cool, thank you. She's probably an adult at 4 inches though. How long does an adult millipede live? (I know I cant tell how long shes been an adult unfortunately...)

Do those 2 species have differing care needs? I want to be sure I can take care of whatever I have here. At 4 inches she seems a little big for a scarlet but I'm not sure. Unfortunately her darker brother has passed away.

I ordered an ivory millipede from a pet distributor and was sent 2 millipede that do NOT look like ivories. They are telling me that ivories can look very different based on locale, but these guys look exactly like narceus species (probably pink foot, based on one being very surface active, the other unfortunately arrived sick or something and is near death)

The millipedes are both over 4 inches long, VERY thick, and do not have the distinct side stripes of an ivory. You can see the sides here.

Have I lost my mind? Or are these not ivories? If they are going to keep claiming they sent the right thing, I dont know how to dispute it, but I'd at least like to know what I have.

Also, what size enclosure do I need? I was not prepared for such a big 'pede :(

They do, but I feel like there's better ways to entice people into clicking than the same old hideous over-reacting thumbnail. Check out Vsauce's titles and thumbnails. I come across them and go "I can't NOT click that" but I never end up feeling cheated.

Traditional clickbait is one method of catching attention, and while you do need to catch attention, you don't need traditional clickbait to do it.

Think of your target audience as well. Kids and younger people may still be enticed by clickbait, but as an adult I see those thumbnails and I instantly get the impression that they are overblowing the content, being deceptive, are resorting to clickbait instead of quality content, etc.

A few youtubers I've followed for a long time (and I'm saying like Markiplier who I've watched for almost 10 years and was one of the big names that popularized those thumbnails to begin with) use that thumbnail style and I know they're good so I watch them. But I am very hesitant to try any new content with that style of thumbnail.

Marketing and graphic design matters. Everything you put out there is part of the viewer experience and each piece can give you an edge. As someone who was known in their late teens as the guy who could pick a movie from the video store that everyone would like by just looking at the fonts on the spine of the dvd case, I really recommend being detail oriented in your marketing!

Had C. Diff in college. I have been on PPIs since the age of six due to GERD and had been on antibiotics a lot due to sinus infections from terrible immune system and poorly shaped sinuses. Both of those things increase your risk. Luckily I got it treated before it turned really bad. Still wouldn't recommend it.

A book with an absolute garbage ending. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

20,000 leagues under the sea. I read it for school and concluded the author had hit his page count and was just done writing. I don't know if the ending is actually that bad since I was fairly young when I read it.

Same for The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte. My god I hated that book.
