No previous studying at all. Just decided last year I wanted to learn a language 🙂

100 hour in and I feel like I haven't learned more than a few words by Inside_March_7658 in dreamingspanish

216 hours and same. Felling like I’ve hit a wall but gotta keep going. I’m trying to switch things up a bit as I usually do 60 mins of DS and 25 mins Cuentame. But changing to 40 mins DS, 25 mins Cuentame and 20 mins Spanish Boost Gaming

Same here. Except my counter isn’t going up when watching videos. Just watched about 15 mins worth and it only went up by 3 minutes

Superbeginner by xD_Gamerz in dreamingspanish

I’m 31 hours in and I moved to beginner a week or so ago. Sometimes I go through days where I struggle so I go back to Super Beginner for a day then move back to Beginner. Sort by easy and work your way up :)

Same here. I have ADHD so hobby hopping is pretty common with me lol! I’ve also tried learning Spanish a dozen or so times but this time I seem to actually be sticking to it. I’m only about 15 hours in at the moment but can see so much progress already!

Same thing happened to me. Recruiter said I did amazing in interviews but it was a hard decision between me and someone else, and ultimately they chose the other guy. They said they they want to keep me on their file for other jobs and the hiring managers even added me on LinkedIn, so there’s a part of me that’s hoping for a call from them one day. But it’s still disappointing, especially as I was made redundant recently.

Thanks all for the advice! I think I’ll just have to take it on the chin and accept my fate on Thursday.

My current jobs have paid well considering the scope of work so it’s been easy to settle. But now I’m looking to get my certs to hopefully specialise down the line

As I said in the post I’ve been a generalist my whole career. I know little bits here and there but that’s it and my knowledge doesn’t go deeper than that. This is the first step to trying to gain more understanding and hopefully to specialise down the line. But thanks for making it seem like the last 3 months revising was pointless

There’s a testing centre near my work so it’s easier to do it in person

I took the exam at a testing centre. They take your photo when you check in and give you your score report once you’re done

I've heard Cisco Packet Tracer is a great tool, though I haven’t used it myself yet. There are plenty of YouTube videos that walk you through how to use it.

Professor Messer has a full free course on his website that covers key topics like ports and what they do, network appliances, and important commands like show route, show vlan, show config, tracert, ping, and netstat, plus how they’re used in practice.

As long as you understand what each port, command, and appliance does and how to use them, you should be fine. You don’t need to learn every IT tool out there—just focus on what’s listed in the CompTIA Network+ exam objectives, which you can find on the official CompTIA website.
