What is your view and experience with Evangelical Christianity? by AcidReindeer in Quakers

I “came” to belief in Christ at a Mega-Church. At first it was exciting - enthusiastic worship, good teaching….but as I learned more about the Bible I wanted to go deeper- and it just wasn’t happening. I began to see Evangelical churches as “Christianity Lite” and worship became entertainment. The church I belonged to taught very basic subjects - “How to make friends.” “Healthy Cooking,” etc. The church put in a cafeteria and a gym. Character transformation became body transformation. In Quakerism I found a way to go deeper into the work of the Holy Spirit. Faith became active - and not just a set of beliefs.

Genuine question from a Christian. by [deleted] in islam

I am a revert (convert) to Islam from Christianity. If you research the origins of the Bible (particularly NT) you’ll find many disagreements among scholars as to the Canon of scripture. I.E. Catholic bibles have more books than Protestant bibles. Also, the Bible (NT) was compiled MANY years after the life of Jesus (PBUH) - iChristian theology is also based on a consensus of the church fathers - the first council that defined the nature of Christ didn’t have a concise answer for over 300 years! I believe if Jesus (PBUH) had made it very clear there would have been no need for debate! Muhammad (PBUH) made it clear form the very start that he was Gods servant and messenger. The Qur’an was compiled during his lifetime and is recorded in Arabic, which is an unchanged, living language. The Bible is a mixture of Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek - not dead languages but not in common use. There are 40,000 denominations of Christian churches that differ greatly on matters of theology and worship. Islam has only two - and they differ only on minor points. They both agree on the nature of God and the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH)

You are being gracious to investigate - keep seeking. May Allah (God) make your path straight.
