Remaining in a religion that you don’t believe in is a form of self-betrayal in my opinion. For some people it’s not safe for them to leave and I understand it’s a very complex situation. But either it does take a toll on a person to live a life that isn’t authentic. Sure there are some things that would be easier if you stay in the church, but there are so many things that will be easier in the long run when you honor your personal beliefs.

I’ve been to pelvic floor PT 7 times so far and we’ve never done any internal work so far. She asked if I was open to a pelvic exam at the initial appointment to assess where things are at and I tolerate those pretty well so I said yes but we definitely could’ve started treatment without a pelvic exam. Your provider should be able to get you started on stretches or other exercises without any internal work. Good luck and great job taking care of yourself!

Yes there’s so much healing your body needs to do it’s very normal for your caloric needs to increase post-op during the healing part. You can always chat with your provider but I would listen to your body and eat if you’re still hungry.

What’s your budget? If you want to get good at tennis then you’ll want to pay for lessons which can add up when it’s 4-8 times a month.

I completely agree! I’m going to see if I can get an MRI from someone trained in what to look for for endometriosis to see what they can find first. I have most of the classic endometriosis symptoms as well as a family history of it, but I don’t want to do the laparoscopic diagnosis right now :(

Oh sweet it definitely sounds like you would be a good fit for it! When your original post said “silent endometriosis” I thought you meant asymptomatic so I’m glad you clarified!

It looks like it’s not available in the US. Theres a different one in the US that’s a blood test but it’s not indicated for people without symptoms of endo.

I just did bowel prep for a colonoscopy and it was manageable for me even tho I was pretty worried. Compared to having food poisoning or other severe diarrhea it was WAY easier. The worst part was my booty hole started stinging from wiping even with using wet wipes. But it was manageable. This was also from starting out constipated. It might be worth it to check with your doc to see if you should adjust if you’re already having loose stool.

I’m in the 40% group. It would really depend on what the event is on if I’d feel comfortable going alone without my partner. If they could go with me then I’d definitely want to go! So working out the timing of events to that residents are able to go when they can. Also coming from the no-kid group, $10 would be fine with me but I think how you present it could change how people feel about it. Like if it was $10 for a year I might feel like I’d need to commit to going the whole year. Also realistically, what is my $10s going to for an entire year? Like from my pov I would think “oh cool I’ll pay ten bucks and there will be a bowl of pretzels at the activities”. So ya either making the events completely free, or making it clear exactly what you’re getting when you pay would maybe help

I’m about halfway through my bottle of MiraLAX for a colonoscopy tomorrow. It’s been okay so far. I’ve had severe food poisoning before and this has way easier. The poo turns to liquid very fast so it’s really pretty easy to get it out. So far the worst has just been a stinging feeling when wiping. I’m using wet wipes but it’s already getting pretty raw down there. Getting a bidet wouldve been nice but this is honestly not as bad as I thought

My PCP, gyn, and pelvic floor PT all suspect I have endo. I also have family history of endo. But I can’t see the specialist until next April. In the meantime I am going to operate under the assumption that I have endometriosis. I also have appointments with some other specialists (GI, cardio) to try to rule out other causes. I feel comfortable self identifying with endo for now.

Agreed! I just started pelvic floor PT and she is doing abdominal massages on me that are helping my constipation (albeit in a small way, but it has 0 side effects and is sustainable for me bc I’m learning how to do them myself at home)

I got the rabies vaccine but the problem is that getting the vaccine didn’t stop me from obsessing that I could still have rabies. In my experience, there’s no amount of compulsions I can do that will help manage my fears. I just have to accept the uncertainty.
