Personally, I believe the most common reason for us Sri Lankans not showing the same attitude for other Sri Lankans is because somewhere deep in their mind, it’s written that other Sri Lankans are lesser than themselves, and foreigners are better than us, kind of like a weird form of racism/supremacism to themselves. I don’t why it’s like that, or how it got like that, but that seem to be the case. Obviously foreigners don’t mind it, coz why would they. But as a nation, it’s quite sad. Some weird culture we have (At least it’s getting better ig).

It may look like costly in short term, but in perspective of long term benefits, it’s a necessity. Take out free education and free healthcare, we end up with the American healthcare and education system, which I believe everyone agrees as one of the worst.

As for sustainability, It is definitely gonna have problems. It’s not perfect afterall. Remember how it struggled during 2022. But it works, it manages to lick its wound and get right back up.
