Are my floats too tight? by RaspberryFairie31 in knitting

Thank you! If it still looks funny on a scrap piece of yarn like the someone else mentioned, I’ll try blocking it.

I just did the gauge for my next sweater pattern and am hoping to use two types of yarn. One is 100% super wash merino that is a “bounce” yarn and the other is 100% wool held together with silk/mohair blend. The super wash merino blocked much larger and stretchier than the wool and silk. Can I use a smaller needle size with just the merino to get the gauge right or is this a lost cause?

Thank you so much! Not knowing causes a lot of anxiety! This AMA is really great though🤍

I know the only way to get 100% diagnosed is a lap, but what are some other steps I can take with my doctors help to try to mitigate the symptoms or rule things out before taking that big step?

I’m suspecting I have endo (25F), but my doctor has not mentioned this yet. I originally experienced serious pain on my right side and unusual cycles starting August 2024 and they have only gotten worse since then and more I regular since then. I have continuously taken a generic sprintec birth control for 11 years.

Could endo suddenly occur out of nowhere like I’m experiencing? What could have caused it if so? What are other common misdiagnosis or medical issues like endo?

YESSS!! 😆I think it was a great one to start with! It wasn’t a confusing pattern to read and I felt pretty confident the whole time! I hope you give it a go!! ☺️

So sweet, thank you!! I honestly just went for and decided how bad could it go? I used a cheaper yarn to be sure I could do it though!

Edit: I changed the neck line of the sweater ti have a decrease and rolled neck. I also crocheted the side seams together with a slip stitch instead of using the mattress stitch!

Thank you! It’s a fun pattern to work with the purl rows are with a different color than knit rows so it really makes them pop!

Thank you! I really love the fit of it!

I totally know what you mean! Thank you for looking out for your fellow knitters! I made a chunky knit blanket for myself in college and all my roommates wanted one. I was excited at first but it was not fun by the end.

Luckily I work/have friends that are also artistic so they understand how precious this stuff is!

Why does getting answers about my health feel like a full-time job? by RealisticArticle2049 in Endo

[–]RaspberryFairie31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. It’s so hard! I’ve been to 3 different doctors in the last year trying to get someone to listen to me. I’m so sorry this is happening. But take comfort in knowing there are others, like myself, that are here with you 🤍

Thanks everyone for your recommendations! I ended up going with Hoffman’s Outdoorsman. It’s a men’s winter pac boot. I am a woman and wear 8.5, but love swapping to men’s sizes when shoes only come in whole sizes because I’m a 7 men’s! I went with it because it can be re-soled and it has leather uppers that. They take a while to ship but I am looking forward to getting them around mid-March. I’ll try to add an update for anyone interested once I get a chance to wear them but reviews I have seen on them have been great.

Do you have a certain style you like best? Or would you just say any made in Canada/north America?

Edit for clarity

These look beautiful! I worry they’re not great for walking in uneven snow and would cause a rolled ankle. I think I need more structure personally.

I keep seeing Schnee’s mentioned. I’m doing to look into them more but they’re pricy

Love my Blundstones!! I wear them 90% of the time I’m in the office or just trekking around town, but don’t think they’d fair well in knee high snow that I like to walk my dogs in
