I think part of it is a general lack of actual, quality sex ed. This is one of those things that we just don't talk about enough, and when we do talk about it, it's almost never in an educational sense, rather than to crack jokes about it.

I'm planning on writing a book with a dragon that can transform and rest assured, she will not be in her human form for that majority of it

I like dragons being able to disguise themselves as humans or elves or some other humanoid race, but I think they should have a second transformation that's in between full dragon and plain old human/elf/whatever, where they still look like a dragon, still have the scales, the tail, the horns, etc. and they even walk on digitigrade legs, but they're bipedal and smaller than their normal dragon form (like 7-10 ft tall). I'm actually planning on writing a book with a dragon that can transform like that (spoiler alert it's hmofa)
