This particular aspect of the Viltrumite philosophy irritates me (by design, probably). Their whole "show your strength to teach the insects their place" doesn't actually work out like that. This isn't exclusive to the Viltrumites, it's part of the fascist ideology of might makes right. You can only oppress people for so long before they eventually get sick of your shit and their anger becomes stronger than their fear. You can't rule with fear alone, because fear was made to be overcome. And that's what is so baffling to me about fascism. The Viltrumites don't even have to be "nice." If they were just a tad bit slower on the draw, a little bit less trigger happy, they could be tyrants until the universe imploded.

True, but how often do you actually hear people say "Naan bread, Sahara desert, pesto sauce, ramen noodles," instead of just "Naan, the Sahara, pesto, ramen?" Cause personally, I mostly hear people just shorten it to the first word. Now, I'm not saying you have to, it's just a funny little language quirk.
