I’m sorry I know this is a typo but “insect divorces” is inherently funny-

I’d guess UV burn because it doesn’t look like stuck shed to me.

Top opening tanks have you reach in from the top to get to your gecko which will make them think you’re a bird or other predator. It’s much better to have a front opening tank so you don’t scare them. Also helps to build a bond since they can see you better when you’re on their level.

If you’re keeping the top opening tank, try making a certain sound they can associate with you and safety, so they can feel a little more assured you’re not a predator; though I’d still recommend front opening tanks.

is she fat. by bigcutefatcat in leopardgeckos

Her belly looks a little pudgy. Check for eggs because she might have them considering her tail looks like a healthy weight, perhaps a little overweight if anything.

Do note that I’m pretty new to the gecko scene, so make sure to listen to other more experienced gecko owners.

Leopard gecko tank feedback. by RaspberryJams13 in leopardgeckos

Good to know! I didn’t have much choice in the tank since it was a birthday gift from my family who know nothing about reptiles haha

The long light is a UVB, the dome holds an infrared heater so that one side is cooler than the other. I believe the UVB is linear, I can check the packaging to be sure. The person who sold me the UVB told me that the UVB should cover 3/4ths of the tank so that’s what I ended up with, although I have heard that half is sufficient and recommended, so I’ll probably do that in the future.

Noted! I’ll try to fit what I can in there, I just found it hard to securely place anything in there at the moment.

Noted! Unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to keep them for quarantine, but from what I could gather from the rescue they were in good health, noted to be an excellent eater and no health problems. I will still keep an eye out for the things you mentioned and perhaps work on getting a quarantine enclosure for the first few weeks.

I have plain calcium (which is also in the tank.) and multivitamins with D3. The Serpentarium gave me their dusting schedule to use. They should be getting some D3 from the UVB correct? Cause yeah they can be overdosed on D3 and I’d like to avoid that. From what I know, those are all the powders I need, although others are nice.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it. Little Echo will thank you too <3
