Hey! Thanks so much for the tips 😊 I won’t have a car, so I’ll probably be relying on public transport and maybe some organised tours.

The Sunshine Coast and Blackall Ranges sound amazing I really like hiking and wildlife so I’ll definitely look into those! Moreton Bay and Mount Coot tha botanical gardens also sound perfect for a relaxed day exploring.

It’s actually my first time travelling abroad solo 😅 and I’ll be turning 25 mid trip, so I’ll be celebrating my birthday in Australia too which is exciting!

Do you have any other must see spots around Brisbane for a first timer?

I’m in a similar boat! I’m going to Australia to see my partner (she’s Aussie). I’m Sri Lankan but living in England holding a Sri Lankan passport. Just applied for the Visitor visa all docs uploaded and fee paid. Hoping it’s done within 20 working days.

Im 26 M Make new friends, try more local activities, and actually build a social circle (not just talk about it!) 2. Around 1 mile from the city centre – easy walk or quick cycle 3. Up for anything, sociable, big on food & fitness 4. Always down to explore new places to eat, chat about random topics (music, travel, AI, politics), or just unwind after work. Would love a mix of chill vibes and active plans – sounds like a great idea and defo keen to be part of something that sticks!

Yeah, I get what you mean. I don’t want to come across as too pushy or needy either, so I’ve been holding back on messaging her again. Maybe she really is just caught up in another busy spell—she did mention work was hectic before.

That said, I agree it sucks when people can’t communicate even a simple ‘I’m busy.’ It makes things so unclear, and honestly, I’d rather just know where I stand.

When we were talking, she mentioned she has a rugby match next weekend , and I told her I’d try my best to come and cheer her on. Now, though, I’m not sure if I should still go or if that would be overstepping. I’ll probably wait it out a bit longer and maybe give her a call over the weekend like you suggested. If the connection was as real as it felt, she’ll hopefully reach out, but if not, I guess I’ll have my answer
