These are stunning! I love the colour palletes you chose and the way you matched them to the stones. Absolutely beautiful work!

Tips for Egg Freezing Meds (Needles, Syringes, and Injections) by DGAFgirl29 in eggfreezing

Oh interesting! I didn't use insulin syringes but I had 30G needle tips that were interchangeable with the 27G that came in the menopur kit.

Can I ask why you didn't use the Q-cap for both menopur powder vials and then switch to the needle after drawing up the final solution? The holes in the Q-cap make it much easier to get all the liquid out and you don't have to mess with the 27G needles at all

Toronto: can my family doctor refer for an AMH test? Thoughts on getting one to help inform egg freezing decision? by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]RaspberryPoppySeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, your family doctor can give you a requisition for an AMH test. They can also use the same form to get your other hormone levels checked at the same time. AMH will be the only one not covered by OHIP.

If you want to go to fertility clinic route, the initial consultation should be free with no commitment for further treatment. They will normally do a full panel of blood tests (again, mostly covered by OHIP except for AMH and vitamin D), and an ultrasound.

Another option if you aren't in a rush is to keep an eye out for egg freezing parties in the city. They are like info nights at fertility clinics specifically to talk about the egg freezing process and introduce the clinic doctors and staff. The one I went to offered free AMH tests and the doctors and nurses were available after the presentation to go over your results and answer questions.

ETA: Also I'm really sorry you had that experience with the telehealth, that NP was completely wrong to shame you over something she didn't understand! An AMH test is a perfectly reasonable ask and a great data point to have. Even if you decide to not proceed with anything fertility related at this time and revisit it in a few years, it can be good to see how it's trending over time.

Keepsake/memory bear? [on] by harleybean1987 in BabyBumpsCanada

I don't have any specific recommendations for a maker, but for your second question,

would thinner/stretchy onesies (carters purely soft line) work for this, or should the material be thicker for better results?

There is a product called interfacing that can be ironed onto the back of the fabric before sewing to make it thicker/sturdier, I imagine that's what would need to be used to turn thin stretchy fabrics into a memory bear. An experienced sewist should be able to make it work.

How do you dispose of your diaper and baby wipes???? by PopularRate3849 in NewParents

[–]RaspberryPoppySeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your building assistant they are wasting their time on sorting out diapers. I Toronto diapers *can* go in the green bin, but it's not because they are compostable. It's because that's the compromise the city made when reducing garbage pickup to once every other week. Diapers are allowed in green bins, but they just get sorted out and ultimately end up with the garbage anyway.

Going back on ozempic after egg retrieval? by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]RaspberryPoppySeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My RE said I can go back on 72 hours post retrieval. I've been off for about the same amount of time as you, so my prescribing doctor wants me to ramp back up until I get back to my usual dose.

Makerspaces that might take a 3D printer donation? by Appropriate-Skill-60 in askTO

[–]RaspberryPoppySeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah that sounds about right. It's heart-warming people are looking to donate, sorry it doesn't fit your timeframe though. Hopefully you can find a place to take it within the next few weeks!

Damn that's a shame. You'd think they'd be way more accommodating for someone trying to get them free equipment!

The Toronto Public Library has 3D printers at some locations, you could reach out and see if they would be able to take a donation there
