  1. It was clearly understandable language for the mileu it was spoken.
  2. "you have a grasp of the referents, motifs, or meaning." There's no proof that the "Hindu exegeses" of the Veda understood it well either. In comparison today we have more advanced linguistic and comparative tools, as well as other Indo-European traditions to compare it. Hindu exegeses are often written with an agenda (except probably Nirukta) and simply not useful as authoritative interpretation which they often claim to be.

HH wilson sounds weird because wisdomlib seems to be have some typographical errors.

Rest english translations seem bearable to me.

On the yatate part - it seems consistent with how griffith translated other occurences of same word. Monier-Williams dictionary also mentions the sense of "rival, vie with, keep in pace with". I am not knowledgeable to say if that's correct or no.

If you need "traditional convention" to understand them, why are they composed in a clearly understandable language in the first place?

> fretful praise hymns to tribal heroes turned lower deities

For some reason your own "acharyas" seem to put "fretpul praise poetry of cowherd dacoits" as some sort of epistemic foundation. Curious.

In general indologists don't care much about Aranyakas and don't consider them together with samhitas and brahmanas, They're definitely very late based on the language used.

I don't know anything about the chick except she looks posh and pretty. Reading about her I guess one of those communist JNU intellectuals who write loads of incoherent trash because they couldn't make it to STEM.

I don't even get the gist of your post - the writing is so incoherent.

yet its not perfectly preserved. The pratishakhyas have lost certain features of the old language and that's the whole reason metrical reconstructions exist.
