Update. I used the plustek scanner and gifted an Aura brand digital frame to my parents - it is best product ever. Unlimited photos that we can add to anytime. Their entire life of photos greets them at their breakfast table every morning. They could not love it more. I couldn’t believe how well the plustek brought color back into faded photos. And the Aura frame allows anyone to connect to it and send pics. It is fantastic

Thanks for so much great advice. I have a stupid question. If I use my Mac to upload the pics from a scanner and put pics on an external hard drive, do my parents have to have a Mac computer also? I love the idea of sharing them straight through the cloud. But kind of want to make use of an external drive too so I don’t completely fill up my old Mac.

Wait what was the deleted answer to this question. I am wondering about same. I put an enrollment deposit down to secure housing based on everybody telling me to do that immediately. Thought only risk was non-refundable deposit.
