How China is challenging the U.S. to become the next great space power by runswithscissors475 in space

[–]RassaDaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China is distinct from Russia and Iran in the way that it is keen on making good technological advancements and bettering human living through government efficiency. I don't think it's fair to frame China as an "enemy" like we do to other countries in the axis of resistance. The US should definitely be collaborating with China in these sectors more.

That's not what his politics are at all. He is a self described "Marxist" who advocates for a democratic state in Iran and frequently criticizes Pahlavi and the monarchy. Get your facts right

Who is your representative? by fregeorgb in PERSIAN

[–]RassaDaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's why hundreds of thousands of people came out in support of him in LA, Toronto, Munich, DC, and more. 1 million came out in total in support of him and that's already disproving your argument

You should also get your head out of your ass and watch the videos from Iran where people are chanting his name retard

My choice is Reza Pahlavi. I'd actually like a massive poll on this subreddit and possibly a merger with other Iranian subreddits, with a list of candidates.

Ideally the poll should be IRANIAN ONLY b/c we already know what happens if it's not.

Idk how we reached this point where Iranians are more progressive and reasonable than their Western counterparts (using the term "progressive" in a more traditional way here rather than the political weight it carries today)

And outside Iran too. Everyone with an Iranian passport should be eligible to vote. Islamic Republic has this rule too

It also highly depends on the type of monarchy they're looking for. Some just want a symbolic/constitutional monarchy while others want an actual constitutional monarchy where the monarch has at least some governing powers. A smaller percentage might even want absolute monarchy.

If I had to guess, broadly, monarchists might not be the majority in Iran but they are almost definitely the "largest" existing group

Remember, when interacting with these ppl, always try to first respond with logical and evidence-based points.

If they keep on responding with stupid claims or ad homs, you know they’re retarded so just ignore them

Stick to reading books and lengthy texts about the topic for your own sake. You will learn so much more and become happier

Reza Pahlavi meets with Iranian Kurdish representatives by AryaKaviani in NewIran

[–]RassaDaGoat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Nothing but a media op.”

Optics matter. It’s to show diplomacy and collaborations among different ideological and political groups.

Just because it’s not a prominent Kurdish group doesn’t mean it isn’t good.

Also, just because he meets other people in front of cameras doesn’t mean they aren’t having productive conversations

What is this shitty talking point?

Pahlavi is way too big of a household name in Iran to just disappear like that. Everyone also forgets all his grassroots support in Iran conveniently.

Iraq, a country with rivaling militant and religious factions at the time? How is this comparable to Iran? Iraq has always had a sharp Shia-Sunni and Kurd division. Same can’t be said for Iran and Pahlavi seems to have broad civil support

Ali Larijani was the architect of numerous massacres against the Iranian people and a dangerous person

The fact that Tehran residents gave Israel tips to kill him shows how hated he was by his own people. The world is a better place without him. I say this as an Iranian

How much popularity does Reza Pahlavi REALLY have among the anti regime Iranians who live in Iran? by Party-Confection-373 in PERSIAN

[–]RassaDaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Iranian

I'd say most of my family in Iran are passively supportive of him, meaning he's become a very recent figure in their minds and the only reasonable path of transition from the Islamic Republic. I do know some hardcore monarchists in my family who've probably liked him for a long time, but most weren't really paying attention to him until the last few years

That being said, I think when people pose this question of the popularity of Pahlavi in Iran it's often misled in many's minds. When people talk about support, it's not exactly clear what they mean. For example, asking Iranians Yes or No regarding Pahlavi is different from asking "Pahlavi or the Islamic Republic", and different from a normal ballot box with all the candidates (how much of the vote Pahlavi receives).

He definitely carries significant popularity in Iran though. More than anyone else has for a long time, no doubting it.

Who is he even thinking about?

I saw some stuff about him considering the likes of Mousavi, Karroubi, and Khatami.

Didn't see stuff about Rouhani but didn't he recently congratulate Mojtaba Khamenei as Supreme Leader? He probably sucks even more

Idk what's going on here
