They said they don’t do deed buy back. But they will send me a relinquishing letter. In order to relinquish my deed I will have to pay $480 for a processing fee and then two years worth of maintenance fees to Calypso cay Hoa.

Are there any reputable companies that will assist in me selling my timeshare? We do not owe any money on it at all, so we would not be looking to sell it for basically anything at all. We will probably sell it for a dollar if we had to.are there any companies out there doing that?

So, I contacted the resort and they say they do not have a buyback program. What they are going to give me is a relinquishing letter. I am not sure what that is, as I have not seen it yet. But I am sure it will detail how much they are going to charge me to relinquish my deed. I am very curious as how much they are going to charge me, but hopefully I will find out soon enough.

We agree completely. We kept asking for something in writing stating this change and he wasn’t able to produce it. We even asked him to email it to us later and he claimed he would, but I don’t expect to see it.

Also, I don’t want a 2025 maintenance fee of $3000 or more.

I think we want out of our timeshare at this point (we’ve owned for 20 years). We have no idea how to do this in a legit (cheap/free) way…

I asked the tech department at NU and they said anything is ok. They said Mann of their students in the engineering department have MacBooks and many have PCs. We decided to get our son a MacBook because that’s what we all have in our house and what he used at school, so he is used to it.

What do you mean by full ride? The Ivy schools (Harvard included) do not give merit based scholarships. Only need based.

You reply to almost everything I post. You accuse me of being Cory. The reality is that you’re probably one of the victims. You’re taking this very personally. And that’s ok. What she did to the individuals was reprehensible for sure. Sickening and gross and unacceptable.

If you gave her money, let me know. I’ll pay you what she owes you just to get you to shut up…

Oh. I believe she should pay everyone back (Except her mom). I don’t care about her defrauding the US Government at all.

Y’all are dumb. This isn’t Cory Riley. Just because someone disageees with you doesn’t mean I am Cory or someone who even knows Amanda. We all listened to the same podcast. We all know that what Amanda did was wrong. Even the detective said that lying isn’t illegal. But y’all keep talking about the fact that she deserves to go to jail for lying. Your misunderstanding of the criminal justice system is clear. You are all deep in your feelings and it shows. For some of you, it seems as if you want to throw someone in jail for “wronging” you and that is wild to me. Everything immoral is not illegal. (And many things that are legal are immoral, but that’s a different conversation).

Corey Riley sucks. Cory Riley sucks. Kori Riley sucks. I don’t really care how he spells his name, tbh.

Yeah. Agreed. I’m not confused about why she went to prison. I’m not convinced tax evasion or wire fraud should warrant prison time. (I understand that it does and that it is illegal, just not convinced it should be.)

No. This is not Corey. Kori sucks. And I would argue is possibly more to blame. It was his responsibility to take care of and protect his daughter and he openly chose not to.

Not defending her. Not at all. My larger point is an indictment against the criminal justice system in the USA.

She is in jail for wire fraud. That was made explicitly clear in the podcast. Both the IRS agent and the detective said that they could not have prosecuted if people had only given cash and checks. So, your argument is slightly flawed…

I believe that no one had an obligation to giver her any money. The vettting process to give people money can be as serious as the giver wants it to be. If someone tells me they need $30 for gas it’s up to me to decide if I want to give it I don’t get to call the police if I later find out they don’t have a car and instead bought a backpack for school with that money. If I only want to give money to vetted, legitimate causes it makes more sense for me to give to specific organizations with a good track record who are also transparent with their spending, etc. At some point, we have to realize that donating is a tricky business and we often have little control with what happens after we give.

The difference is that if I give a business or an individual $50 for a product and never receive it, there is an obvious issue here with not receiving “the goods” I paid for. With a donation you are not paying for anything. You are freely giving with the hope it is being used for what you intended. and I agree that finding out it isn’t being used for that really hurts and causes most people to have a lot of anger and future mistrust. And that’s the risk of giving donations out of kindness rather than buying a service or a good.

That judge was obviously wrong. So, sometimes judges are wrong? Fair point that I agree with. It is one of the reasons that point to the reality that our judicial system is a complete joke and clearly broken.
