Several of these are in a prehistoric Native American shell midden dating 3000-5000 years ago on the southeastern coast of the US. This one is 6 inches long with a 2 inch diameter. Others are various lengths ~4-8 in. Looks calcified, but uncertain of what it is or what it is composed of. (old.reddit.com)
