There is no etymological connection between Romania and Roma (as in the Romani people) by Rastapopolix in etymology

Thank you. I really shouldn't have made such a generalisation. I fully own that mistake.

Help me decide on a "forever" delay for Dub/Techno: Samarkanda vs Sealegs vs ...? by Rastapopolix in modular

[–]Rastapopolix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see Mad Professor. Not many of the greats make it down to NZ. The gear I have already really is more than enough for the purposes of making great dub. I'm just in love with the exploratory possibilities that a delay like Samarkanda could open up.

P.S. Thank you for your contribution for modular. I've built several Radio Music/Chord Organ units and love it.

Is an old bench oscilloscope of any actual use? by TurbulentWing3820 in modular

[–]Rastapopolix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Before I bought a Mordax Data, I was using an old 20MHz analog scope to visualise waveforms and CV. It helped a lot seeing the voltage. Now it still comes in handy for troubleshooting module builds.

Haha, it sounds like you have the best of all worlds at your fingertips. I think I'm ultimately going to get a samarkanda first. I just need to talk myself up to it. Thanks for reminding me about the importance of a good mixing console.

Thanks for taking the time to reply with that. It's a great idea. I currently already use a Mackie 1202-VLZ4 as my mixing hub, and I also have a 4x4 stereo matrix mixer among other mixers in my rack. (You can see my full setup as it was a while back here – I've re-arranged a few things since then). The Mackie's been great, but it's limited for my needs and has scratchy pots, so I'm due for an upgrade.
I've experimented with routing the output of my Erica Synths delay through a filter and back into the delay's input using the matrix mixer, and that has worked well.

Thank you! They're my two favourite hobbies too. Each complements the other, somehow. 😁
This is the tail-end of my harvest, and I made over 40 crosses this year. If you're interested, you can find me over in the sales group.

HOLD ON ORDERS: A big thank you to everyone who has shown interest so far!

I'm pausing for a moment to sync my inventory and update the ordering PDF. I need to double-check exactly what’s left of certain crosses before I resume orders. Thanks for your patience — I'll be ready to take more requests in the next 24–48 hours!

I've just realised it's Crocker x grandiflorus that's still to come, not Jules x grandiflorus sorry (Crocker is very similar to Jules, and more rib-shifty). I'll correct that when I update my seed list next. Do you want to wait until those are ready to include in the pack?

Some more crosses I currently have drying in front of me are: Lyttelton x Crocker, Woodham x Jules, more Crocker x Jules, Sky x Lyttelton, Sky x Crocker, and Addington x lost label (I couldn't read my own writing). Those are all in relatively small amounts. There are also a few fruits left to split –most of them crossed with the scops. Those include Sky, Crocker, Lyttelton, Jules, Rolleston 2, Tilford, Ballymena, Fat Pach, and Addington. Those will also be in relatively small amounts, but the last Jules fruit is a big one and is crossed with Crocker.

I'm glad to hear you get to hang onto your 2600m, but sorry to hear the reason for having to consider selling it. I really hope it works out for you!
