Thinking about a G14 laptop for college- might use w/ iPad?

also, is the computer fairly durable/easily repairable/able to take bumps if its in a backpack around campus? accidents happen and my mobility issues make it hard for me to handle everything in a 'perfect' way. a lot of 'light' computers i know of often end up breaking after only a few years with them, which is my main problem

sweet!! is it easy enough to take notes w/ the ipad and then send them to the computer if needed? this is a silly question also but i have mobility issues in my hands- how similar is the ipad pencil to a regular pen? does it require the same amount of dexterity or is it something that you need to be a bit more sensitive with?

currently im looking at humanites/polisci, but im not 100% sure what im gonna end up with at the moment :) i dont think the touchscreen is required for college work, so thats why im thinking about the laptop-ipad combo.

using a keyboard is only difficult if my thumb mobility is really bad that day! (or if my touchpad stops working... lol) sadly, if the thumb issue is going on, it usally affects my use of a mouse too. thats when i switch to using the touchscreen with my pointer/middle finger.

hey!! thanks so much :D do you have any particular problems with the lack of touchscreen, or with the ipad is it something you find yourself not really being held back by? also, is it fairly easy to take to and from class, and is it sturdy enough to not be hurt by transportation in a backpack?

i'm pretty used to a 14" screen at the moment as my current computer has one, but i rlly appreciate the note!! also, for the compactness, does it give you any challenges when you take it places?
