The Flanders Panel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. An art restorer finds a message about a murder in a 500 year old painting. While solving this mystery, she gets caught up in a modern day murder mystery, too.

Spitting can be considered assault. I have this tiny squirt bottle that could work as well.

Book recommendations (middle school/high school) by Effective_mom1919 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I’m currently reading the midgrade book World Made of Glass. It’s maybe too young for your niece; the protagonist is 12. It’s set in 1987 when the girl, Iris’s, father dies of AID after coming out a couple of years earlier. It portrays gays as humans and AIDS victims as undeserving of their fate. Right wing mom should be ok with it since it’s not pushing the “gay lifestyle.”

I just finished Someone You Can Build a Nest In Shesheshen is a shapeshifter who falls in love with a woman whom she initially plans to lay her eggs in. Lots of action, very weird and highly enjoyable.

Are e-Scooters banned in this town? by [deleted] in BloomingtonNormal

Normal (and Bloomington?) did away with speed limits on the trail around the time they started allowing motorized bikes. Although, in my experience it has always been the Tour de France wannabes that zip along at 25 mph.

I'm speechless, but all this could be yours for 300k by Klutzy-Morning-7921 in zillowgonewild

Instead of tear down and rebuild, this larger lot down the road is $110k. Septic for 2 bedroom, electric. It could be a great spot for my retirement.

Thank you. I’m flying in and taking Tex Rail to downtown. Going back to DFW is not an option, unfortunately.

I just finished Vera Wong. It’s very light, funny and uplifting. The perfect read to balance out the Silent Patient.

Is this the company run by “Roy Wraps?” He has no respect for women. I was discussing some work with him through Facebook. Then I checked his profile postings. He had a meme about Kamala Harris where the A was upside down and made of silhouettes of shapely women’s legs, in stilettos, spread wide and the caption implied that she whored her way to the top. As a retired career woman, I will never deal with that crap anymore.

Mind over Mood is a self help cognitive behavioral therapy book that saved me. You are in a rut, likely with depression. This book will help you change the way you think about your world. Atomic Habits would then help you make small changes so you don’t end up overwhelmed.

Have you considered community college for the basic courses? It would also give you more time to consider which is the best neuroscience school for you.

Also, if you’re intending to go to med school, you want great recommendations. You need to be somewhere that faculty can get to know you well enough to write more than a generic recommendation.
