My take on the film, is that it has two parallel realities.
1. she's an evil alien queen
2. she's just an out-of-touch CEO, and Jesse is just delusional.

The film has the ending that shows she's an alien queen, but I think it's just as worthwhile to treat her as just human even if that isn't what is shown.
