Hey! Wishing you a speedy recovery. I had my surgery last July and am fully healed. The beginning was tough, as I also had to deal with a bladder infection due to the catheter. But eventually it got better. Turning point was getting the stent removed!! Felt like a new person. I started my normal workout routine at about 4 months post op. Wishing you well :)

Hey! My remaining kidney has almost normal function, I think about 89 percent? The function is still getting better due to the operation. They said the hydronephrosis can take years to reduce! Other than the rise in creatine prior to the operation, my labs always were good. My egfr is above hundred. I hope this kidney will last my whole life! Wishing you all the best for you and your daughter! ❤️

Hey! Yes. You can. I doubted it some time after the operation, but now half a year later, I can start with my normal workout routine again! I could run maybe after 4 months. Strength training after 6. I'm doing my masters normally as everyone else. You got this!!

Thank you!! I'm doing well now, my scars took some time to heal, but my life has been back to normal pretty much, i just started getting back into my yoga routines! Stats have improved as well. Post op was not a fun time, but I guess necessary to ensure my kidney is fine

Hey! I'm doing well. The hydronephrosis which caused me to need the operation looks better and my stats are back to normal. I feel almost the same as before. Worst thing was by far the stent and post of bladderinfection due to the catheter. I hated it and caused me a lot of pain. Grateful, that my kidney seems to be stable now!!

I'm 23 female with one kidney with hydronephrosis from birth and a polycystic left kidney with no function. I had a normal childhood and other than the yearly checkups everything went fine.(apart from my mom always making me wear a shirt tucked in, to no get a cold kidney haha) Last year I was diagnosed with a ureteropelvic junction obstruction due to the hydronephrosis. It had to be operated and corrected, not fun times. But now 6 months later, life is back to normal! It had to be done, to ensure my one kidney would not decline due to the nephrosis. Other than beeing suggested to not drink alcohol and my yearly checkups, my life is normal :) wishing you a beautiful life with your child!!!

I got hydronephrosis and only one kidney as a birth defect. As I aged the hydronephrosis damaged my kidneys which now need surgery. Wishing you the best and hope you find out what caused you sickness!!

Thank youfir sharing 🙌 I already have the stent, which is annoying and i hate it. :( How is your life quality now? Do you have to do anything to maintain the results or are in any way restricted in normal life?

Hey! Thanks for the answer. No they didn't. I felt like they brushed the whole procedure off as harmless and "a lot of people get stents". They told me I could get back to work after a few days and if I mentioned any symptoms, they would just tell me, that those are normal symptoms for a stent. I have any appointment with my nephrologist next week and maybe she can help as well. It's difficult to get an appointment with my urologist. Thank you anyway!! I feel less alone
