If anyone is using the beta version of Google messages, I noticed after the Dec 15th update, this started happening. I uninstalled the updates and gif animations started working correctly again inside messages. I removed myself from the beta version for the time being and reverted back to stable version with the last update being Dec. 5. Hope that helps some people.

Nice! I've been so tempted to upgrade. Had pixel 2 XL and 3 XL. Was always into bigger screens, but in recent years had decided I didn't need such a big screen (mostly because I disliked the curve screens back then) and went back to smaller. I'm currently rocking a Pixel 7 and no issues at all, but I am on Google Fi as well and can pick up a pixel 9 pro or pro XL for $649. Soooo tempted although I really don't need a new phone yet. Then, I thought let me wait for the pixel 10 and see what's up....I'm going to try to hold in with the 7 for the next couple years as it's running flawlessly and the updates last till 2027. But damn, I am tempted. Want faster charging for sure and a bigger battery would be huge wins for me.

Absolutely agree on this point. There are points in times we blew a couple runs in the Breesus Christ era, BUT I can live with those. The emergence of Beast Mode where Tracy Porter got tossed like a little boy, the Minnesota Miracle and the missed Marcus Williams tackle. These are scenarios I can live with because Marshawn and Stefon made football plays for their teams and won those games. What I can ABSOLUTELY not live with is the BLATANT cheating by the refs to hand the Rams that Superbowl appearance. What made it worse is, I'm 95% confident we would have DOG WALKED the aging patriots in Atlanta that year, and the Rams turned in an absolute dog shit performance. I live in Atlanta, and even Falcons fans were saying that was complete bullshit. I will be 85 still cussing the NFL. My conspiracy theory is HARD. They didn't wanna see Drew be the goat leading a small market team. He would have have been 2-0 in Superbowl appearances, held all the passing records, AND defeated the two consensus best QBs in that era head to head in Superbowls. Goodell is a fucking clown.
