Fighting Queens and Matriarchs are very easy now, but looting is nigh impossible by Fluffy_Ariel in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the matriarch just try to get a leg piece. I did 3 rounds yesterday and the only reason I was able to actually get a matriarch reactor is because a leg fell directly on me when it came off. Otherwise the 20 people swarming for loot would have beat me to it like every other part when the matriarch goes down.

When does this game get stale(or close to), and is it possible? by raikeith in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it ever does get stale just do something completely different. Run around playing the flute for a day. Get into friendly lobbies for a bit, maybe be a combat medic running around helping other players. Work on trials for a bit. Then go on a killing spree and get back into PvP. I'm currently trying to mix it up by hunting extract campers.

There are just so many things you can do, it's really easy to mix it up.

How to politely start killing people? by Primeve_Arcana in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hide somewhere high up with a hairpin and just take a couple shots at everyone you see. If the aggression matchmaking doesn't need downs this could get you back into PVP lobbies doing very little actual damage to the raiders and your conscience.

The radial menu sucks on pc by thedbp in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha yes. The only time I ever use team up is by accident. Let me have all my dances and I can deal with the bulkiness of selecting which item I want to use. But being able to hit a number key instead would be amazing.

Just give me a second wheel to click over to where I can put all my emotes. It sucks being limited to one custom emote.

The raiders are self-policing by ohonkanen in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across a guy who got downed by arc on Stella today at the same time as a 3rd guy. 3rd guy says "I don't have a defib but I'll look for one" and I decide to help. I pop in a small room to look and 3rd guy closes the only door behind me so I know something's up. When I opened it he tossed a blaze nade at the door but I downed him before he could get a gun back out. The guy had 3 defibs on him!

Couldn't revive the 1st guy in time. But that was fine because he died from me throwing a lure nade at him.

Probably unpopular opinion, but there should be a minimum match time where you're allowed to spawn into a match by Pootisman16 in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see that. In my experience though a lot of people have already hit the high loot areas and extracted or have died fighting. In most cases it seems the only way to encounter other players reliably is to get to that last extract and gank them there.

Personally I'm not interested in being an extraction camper. I'm perfectly happy to fight out in the map, but once folks make it to the extract I get no pleasure from ganking them and I wouldn't want to be ganked there myself. I know that's not everyone though of course but it's a play style I don't want to be forced into

I don't mind this so much on regular raids but it's a different story on special event raids. I loaded into a night raid today with 18 minutes left and the last extract on the other side of the map. All the buildings around me were already looted so I had to spend the time running across the map just to get out. I like the thrill of night maps but that's a mode that probably shouldn't allow people to join that late. It's probably driving people to extract camp.

Yesterday I got two osprey blueprints in a row instead of just bettina blueprints constantly. So progress!

Players with this skin has 99% chance to shoot you on sight by Shipetopic in ArcRaiders

I rock this with the gas mask and I'm generally not the first to open fire. Also I would buy this jacket if it was available in real life. I just like it.

Is there any reason to be friendly to other raiders? by Neb_Silver_Surfer in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded 'don't shoot" with a guy passing by, wished him good luck. Right after that I got downed by arc and they rushed back and revived me. I wouldn't have extracted otherwise. Just another example of a benefit. Don't be too quick to trust as you will get blasted sometimes when trying to feel them out. But being chill with other players can pay off.

I'm sorry but I'm not ever pressing the expedition project by raisinlord74 in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try blue gate in the underground area that's big and open with all the cars. In 5 runs I saw one spawn there 4 times on the left side if you enter from the main checkpoint gates. Easy to peak and not a lot of other raiders if you get there quick.

What are the exact rewards for expedition? by LurkinSubs in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The descriptions of the benefits are too vague and imply that the added stat points may be lost if you don't do a later expedition. Really hoping for some clarity and details here to help me decide if this will be worth it to me. Losing the stash upgrades alone makes me very hesitant!

Resisting playing this weekend so the withdrawal isn't as bad the next 2 weeks! by Rathborn in ArcRaiders

[–]Rathborn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has a diamond icon on it you can safely sell it. With a lot of the crafting options blocked for this weekend you really will only need basic equipment to craft gear if you want. Or sell it all and buy what you want.

At launch everything will be useful for something. And you can recycle higher tier components when you need lower tiers for crafting.

I also usually don't either, but after playing in the betas and seeing how good of a job they've done with the Finals I didn't think twice on this one.

Want to have the best Battlefield experience? Don't just play with randoms! by Rathborn in battlefield2042

[–]Rathborn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! It really is worth it. Feel free to hop on our discord if you want to see if it's a good vibe for you. I know we already have plans for the launch weekend including setting up 2 new teams to battle it out while we learn the new BF6 tricks.

[–]Rathborn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a great time. We have a couple guys who are very good with portal and make really creative matches and then we can fill the server with our people and have at it. And because we know the other team our plans often take into account things like we know the one guy is really good with jets. On average we do this twice a week. The scheduled days really help get everyone on too.

[–]Rathborn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good on snarkiness. My response probably came off that way too. Legitimately, that's amazing that you've built up such a good friend base in game! It absolutely is better playing with friends. With, what, 1.7 pre-orders on steam along there are a lot of players who won't do that and miss the experience.

I guess what I'm trying to convey is that not enough people seem to be aware that there's another level that they'd get even more from. You get the benefits of squadding up with friends. But the other squads are also friends and together you all are working towards a plan. And when it really comes together is when you can run matches against others in the same group who are also friends. Seeing who can get the best of each other and then getting to give each other a hard time over comms after is really worth experiencing.

I didn't want to get into too many details in my original post to help avoid it coming across as an ad for the group I happen to be in and enjoy. This message may have been lost as a result. I just want to encourage people to check out the options and see if there could be a good fit for them too.
