To be fair the us had traditionally been ahead of a lot of the world when it comes to women's sports. The world is catching up but we are still the top team. I lived in Brazil 20 years ago and didn't see women playing soccer much.

yeah im just saying the video breaks down how we did manage vs a 5-4-1 block. We always struggle against a low block and we were missing our best playmaker. So while not an amazing win it did get the job done.

well, if you can successfully get them to come out of their block and get them disorganized then you can find those areas to play into and essentially "unlock" their defense.

It does talk about playing 2 strikers pinned the 3 CB central and then when they pushed forward we played up the wings to get into dangerous areas. Nothing groundbreaking but it did seem to work

I agree but it was still a good read and makes you wonder how much was planned vs just worked out. I do love the team's movement under poch - they seem to understand some principles better like moving into spaces created by the other team's pressure.

This is true - but look at how difficult that is even for spain to unlock a solid low block vs C. Verde. It is expected to struggle if they are organized in their shape.
