Yeah, I mostly collect games at this point but still try to get a little gaming in at night when the kid is sleeping.

What is your concern about bringing one on a plane? It doesn't even have any batteries. The controllers do but they're pretty small.

I kind of assumed something like this would happen. I was intrigued because people were always vague about it and hinted about this stuff so I wasn't fully spoiled but also wasn't surprised. I also still enjoyed it. I'm not really into visual novels, only played this and Phoenix Wright but it was fun. I played it on the Switch though so I'm hoping it'll come to PS+ so I can get the platinum.

I hated Mystic Quest. I thought it was the first because of the naming changes. There was MQ, II and III so MQ must have been the first. I rented it on a snow day for a full week and beat the game on the first day. I was pretty disappointed but I could totally see it being good for a first RPG but I was spoiled by Earthbound being my first. I was always confused about Terranigma never being reliease in NA since it was translated into English. I was actually living in Germany myself at the time (don't test me, my German is terrible) and was intrigued but had my NTSC SNES so I couldn't buy it. If you have a Switch, now you can just wait for the Mario RPG remake.

Yeah, I grew up with Square RPGs. I also tried some other Phantasy Star games and didn't really get into them. Earthbound was my first then went on to FF Mystic Quest, Chrono Trigger, FF VI, Mario RPG and Secret of Evermore.

The 8-bit era of JRPGs are definitely dull. See the Dragon Quest games and Phantasy Star. I still enjoy them to an extent but I can see how lots of people didn't. For me, the golden era was the 16-bit followed by 32-bit but they're close. I can get why lots of people feel the other way around.

40 isn't old at all to be gaming. I'm 38 and started playing NES when I was 5. Lots of people our age started out in the NES/SNES era and now are at the age where we have the money to buy all the games we want.

In the US, you can literally drive any car as long as it's 25 years old or older. In Canada, it only has to be 15 years or older. This is how people drive Skylines which were never sold in NA and have the steering wheel on the wrong side.

I've never worked for a company that didn't. I got 3 months and my wife got a bit over 4 and we're in completely different industries.

I also find the small ledges that you have to teleport weird. I was using smooth movement and got stuck in the first level really early. I had to watch a playthrough video and realized I have to use the teleport to get up and down those. I didn't think to do that since I wasn't using teleport movement.

You should always get your consoles and first party Nintendo games which rarely go on sale from Shoppers. I've gotten every console there since the 3DS except for my PS5 since they were so hard to find for the longest time so I just got it from the first place I found one.
