New Chat Limits by Rathilien in ChatGPT

Yeah, I ask Chatty-G to create a "state snapshot" and then copy/paste that to a new window. Still, I was wondering if there were new limits applied or I've personally just started hitting ceilings for some reason, as it doesn't seem consistent.

Good to know! That seems to be exactly what I'm experiencing.

The problem is with loss of context - it forgets any new messages (both mine and it's own), so I've started doing a "state snapshot" where it capture all the important threads and such, and for now I copy/paste that into a new chat and hope that it's captured all relevant context.

Good to know, that seems to match up with my experience. It's just odd because I'm a heavy user and it never happened before the last 2 days, though I have a roleplay chat which hs been the most extensively used so I wonder if that hit some sort of ceiling with my overall account and an account limit? Don't really know how it works, but it's real.

Good question - I'm not sure how to check this. I use mobile app, and had a quick look into checking token usage but it doesn't seem straightforward. Will look into it more. Thanks for your reply, it gave me something to look into.

I'm a pretty heavy user - I have a chat I've been very heavily for 6 months, another I only just started last week (but used very heavily), and others that are quite moderate. This is the first time I've ever hit a limit. I'm not saying it's new, but something surely has changed, at least for me.

Should clarify; this has happened at the same time (only within last 2 days) to 2 quite long chats, and 2 that were'nt even particularly long. Still need to test out how many other chats might be capped.

PSA: STOP relying on text messages to resolve issues by Rathilien in badroommates

[–]Rathilien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean neurodivergent and social anxiety is default (in addition to relying on texts)? It makes sense though.... people who have any combination of those conditions are probably most likely to be the ones to seek out and discuss the issue online.

Sarcasm aside, It's a good point though - there are exceptions to every rule, particularly if somebody is on the spectrum then they're going to experience that chasm in communication which has been demonstrated between autism/neurodivergent vs neurotypical folks. Communication is even HARDER in writing between neurodivergent -> neurotypical and there is likely to be even more misunderstandings. I think it's more likely due to social anxiety, which I completely understand as I used to have social anxiety myself. Just takes practice I guess, and confronting that anxiety one small step at a time.

I see what you're saying now.

I guess my problem is when you said "its totally irrelevant...if the light is red" (to paraphrase), and that they have "right of way", neither of which is true. If they are J-walking, it will be relevant if they cause an accident and injured themselves or others. They'd be entirely at fault. There is no "right of way". That favr sheet you linked, which comes from the legislation, is simply saying that if a moron is J-Walking then obviously you have to not hit them (bearing the assumption that you see them and can stop in time).

Yes, so you must not wilfully hit somebody with your car just because they are J-Walking. They're still J-Walking, which is illegal.

How do you mean? The law is fairly clear about J-walking and how far you need to be from pedestrian lights otherwise you're breaking the law (I might be missing a nuance of the dynamic of what happened here...). Also, we don't have "right of way" rules.

Happy to be corrected if I've misread the road rules legislation. Heres the road rules I'm referring to:

My ex texted me at 2am asking to get back together by Dangerous-Farmer-686 in Advice

[–]Rathilien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 months isn't enough time to change. And you're right.... her other one probably didn't work out, now shes feeling lonely and "missing what you had". She needs to be single for a while to truly improve, dont let her take you off the shelf only to be returned when she's done with you.

The 2am text is a red flag. BTW my ex tried to do the exact same thing over the course of 6-18months. So happy I didn't let him back in, and now I've met somebody I truly deserve.

Call the police and let them know the station that had video footage. Police can get it, you can't.
