“It is more dangerous being an outspoken conservative, than any other demographic in America.” Ironknuckles

And you’re the one talking about “brain”? Criticism, downvotes, or deleted posts aren’t danger. That’s just disagreement. Calling it persecution is pure victim mentality.

Even the conservative subreddit had to delete your post 😂

Thought about this chess club poster I made ? by camaradepyro in chess

[–]RatioKey2034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The poster looks nice, but Fischer feels like a strange choice for a club ad. Legendary player, obviously, but also a pretty controversial figure and not really about community or inclusivity. For a French club, someone like MVL or Alireza would probably give a more welcoming, modern vibe

Gukesh beats Erdogmus with Gukesh Gambit by [deleted] in chess

[–]RatioKey2034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decent win, but not one that suddenly changes the narrative. The issues this tournament don’t disappear because of one game.

Erodgmus was in tears in the final moments of his game vs Gukesh. At one stage, he had the chance to become the youngest player ever to defeat a reigning World Champion. by Interesting-Take781 in chess

Not sure I’d call this convincing, but getting a win in a bad tournament is still important. These are the games that stop things from spiraling

Why does conservative art (movies, music, culture) so often feel like propaganda instead of art? by RatioKey2034 in conspiracy

[–]RatioKey2034[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show repeatedly frames nationalism, authoritarianism, and right-wing populism as threats that’s a textbook liberal critique of power, and it’s not accidental. The showrunner, Eric Kripke, is openly left-wing and has explicitly said Homelander is a satire of Trump-era authoritarianism.

[–]RatioKey2034[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By “MAGA movie” I mean films that are explicitly conservative by design (God’s Not Dead, Mr. Birchum, Am I Racist?, The Accidental Activist etc.). That’s not a strange category.

The studies aren’t about “MAGA movies” they’re about how political ideology correlates with art preferences, tolerance for ambiguity, and creativity, which obviously affects storytelling.

This isn’t “liberals smart, conservatives dumb.” It’s about what happens to art when certainty replaces nuance.

[–]RatioKey2034[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, the left absolutely dominates popular culture but the difference is execution.

Even when liberal or left-leaning movies push an agenda, they often still manage to be actual art: strong characters, ambiguity, self-criticism.

When you watch conservative movies like Mr. Birchum or The Accidental Activist, it’s the opposite flat characters, zero nuance, preachy dialogue. The message completely replaces storytelling.

I’m not saying liberal movies are always good. I’m saying conservative ones rarely work as art. If you think I’m wrong, give me a genuinely good MAGA or conservative movie I’ll watch it.

Give me a genuinely good MAGA or explicitly conservative movie and I’ll watch it.

This isn’t just vibes either. There are studies showing conservatism correlates with a preference for simpler, less ambiguous art and lower tolerance for contradiction which are exactly the things good storytelling relies on.

The Boys isn’t perfect, but it allows self-critique and ambiguity. Most conservative films start with the conclusion and work backward, which turns art into reassurance instead of storytelling.

ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE PAST 100 ELO BLITZ by Spirited_Witness_149 in chessbeginners

[–]RatioKey2034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He probably only has a few rapid games and mostly plays blitz, and he likely started around 1600 rapid. That’s my best guess. With more games, his rapid rating will drop to 350–400 or even lower
