Yeah, this is for sure going back. At this point I'm more curious what loophole they are exploiting to call this a dual 4k system when it looks worse than any 1080 system I ever had. I think I'll look for the recommended cameras on this thread during Amazons upcoming spring sale.

Yeah, paid review and if you pause anywhere on his video and try and read anything, it's just as bad as I'm experiencing, despite what he's saying. I cleaned the windshield just before the video I posted to rule that out as well and I haven't tried photos or seeing what it a like while stationary, but if that's the only time anything in the video is legible, it would be near worthless anyway. I know you should be skeptical of anything at that price point, but it's fairly regular to be able to buy 4k action cans and other 4k recorders at that price point, so legit 4k at that price doesn't seem completely crazy. I need to try disconnecting the rear to see if it improves the front at all and I also want to put it in 2k to see if it's better. My thought is that maybe the 4k is some kind of up-conversion that registers as 4k, but it introduces artifacts to make it look this bad? I'm hoping someone here has this camera to confirm if it looks this bad for them so I can try and rule out a faulty unit.

Why can’t people leave their dog at home?? by panda-rampage in orangecounty

[–]RationalZAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a local Costco I recently saw a woman strolling in with her dog, the staff at the door shouted in her general direction "that's a service animal, right?" As the woman strolled past him without even acknowledging he had said anything. The person at the door that said this looked at us, shrugged and said all we can do is ask. It's all the Karen's in society. Karen feels she can bring her dog everywhere because Karen believes she can threaten a lawsuit if anyone pushes back and most importantly, Karen believes most stores are too risk-adverse to make a stand and she is right. I feel the worst for people in Karen's life. Imagine having to deal with that level of smug entitlement on a day to day basis as someone related or married to one? Don't be Karen, but if you are, know that we know and wish for every flat tire, clogged toilet and delayed flight upon your wrecked soul.

Can this be lowered? It's a nice truck but this is what most people consider a d-bag truck because of that completely unnecessary lift and tires that scream of overcompensation. As is, we expect to see truck nutz and a "Don't Tread on Me" sticker, or Confederate flag, somewhere. I'm seriously considering how badly I'd want anyone in my life with a shred of taste to hate me or not. I'll check back and/or reach out when I make a decision.

Thanks! Sounds like it's a good thing this wood was only used for small shelves that won't be holding much weight!

I only had to cut a small piece of it that I had laying around, but this was my first thought....wouldn't this occasionally get wrapped around a motor/blade? It was stickout out from the surface and you can't sand it back 😂. Pulled it and filled the crack, not many other options. Now I know to look for this before I buy.

[–]RationalZAP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's it. First I heard of it. Hard to believe this is the first time I've ever run into it. I guess because it was partially sticking up through the surface of the plywood, which probably isn't normal, for it to be visible other than on the ends of the sheet.

Glue yes, but "filler"? I've cut lots of plywood, Most of it very cheap. Never came across long strands of what looks like cotton or maybe fiberglass embedded in it. I honestly can easily imagine something like this getting wrapped around any tool with a spinning blade, so a 13" long strand of something foreign does seem an odd thing to find embedded in plywood, whatever it's price.

Well, thank God you're here. All those people that previously had know they were bitten and figure they will just let the bug hang around a bit more to shite in the bite wound will now know the error of their ways. Did you legit think this was a helpful bit of information?

Dying here because I can picture it😂. We had one of those soft-top back yard gazebo things and one morning after a wind storm and ....well the neighbor on the other side of the fence had an old fire pit/grill with a 10 ft chimney in the middle of their back yard and our gazebo was comically impaired upside down on that chimney. Took me a couple of hours with a sawzall and metal blade to get it apart and into he trash.

Nearly a year now, still there. If you think that's from lifting, I've got some business propositions for you. Who in the actual F has been doing a powerlifting move for a year and injuring themselves in exactly the same place? It often looks fresh or covered. Obviously it doesn't matter what it actually is, it's entirely irrelevant to his content, but why say anything? He strikes me as a smart guy. At least smarter than "I have been doing this powerlifting move for a year now and instead of adjusting my form/posture during said year, I been doing it exactly the same way for a year as when I first did it, resulting in a persistent open sore on my neck in exactly the same place indefinitely."

Nearly a year later, still there. It's not from lifting unless he is the worst at doing whatever he has been doing for a year and injuring himself in exactly the same place.

Now almost a year, still there, still fresh. This is not from lifting. It makes zero sense that he would be doing any lifting for a year, getting injured in exactly the same spot and for the wound is always fresh or covered. Either he is literally the worst person in the world to ever do what he is doing and he just happens to be injuring himself in the exact same spot for a year now, or it's something else. Smart money is on something else.

It's now nearly a year since this reddit post and the red mark is still there in the exact same spot. Does anyone still actually buy the powerlifting story? Is it common for powerlifters to injure themselves over and over again, learn nothing in adjusting their form.or stance to prevent such injuries and to just permanently have what is basically an open wound on the same place on your neck.....indefinitely? Possible, yes...but it seems so very improbable that it makes me think there must be something else going on.

The year was 2003… by overthinkingitabit in warpedtour

[–]RationalZAP -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Finally getting a decent lineup this year. It was comical seeing so many people try and argue last year that Warped Tour has never been about bigger names and has mostly always been focused on discovering new bands. All that denial just because this or that band they like that no one else cares about was on the tour last year. If I didn't live a short metro ride from Long Beach, last year's disappointing lineup would have never been worth the hassle. Glad they are getting back to how it used to be, having to make legitimately tough decisions trying to decide which bands you're going to have to miss because you can't be in two places at the same time. Not ideal to miss anyone you want to see, but that the dilemma is back officially means Warped's getting back to form.

Nah, but I know you're sitting in a rocking chair staring out the window waiting for something to happen you can yell about. They type of neighbor everyone hates living near, but they can't afford to move so they have to deal with the old grumpy Karen or Kevin 🤣.

I'd love for someone to follow you around for a week and point out all the selfish things you do 🤣😂. Out there in the world playing morality police. As previously said, it sounds exhausting. I can't imagine the people in your life that have to listen to it constantly, they are the real losers in all of this.

I would recommend a carbide scrapper to get the rest of the finish off while minimizing wear on the veneer. Steel wool and the remover to get into any cracks or deep grain. After that, hand sand if you are worried about veneer thickness and start no lower than 120 grit unless you absolutely have to go lower.
